OTO Awards
''Osobnosť televíznej obrazovky'' (''Television Screen Personality''), more commonly abbreviated as ''OTO'', was a Slovak awards show recognizing the public figures and the work of popular culture in the country. Established by Art Production Agency (APA) in 2000, the television poll-based awards were voted on by the general viewing audiences. The annual ceremonies of the accolades were screened live by the national television network RTVS, usually in March for the previous calendar year. The categories awarded regularly, included Program, Actor, Actress, Male and Female Singer, as well two special awards; Hall of Fame and Absolute ''OTO''. The announcement of awards' discontinuation was announced in 2022, following negative controversies in previous years, pandemic delays, declining popularity and high production costs. Miroslav Žbirka
Miroslav "Miro" Žbirka (21 October 1952 – 10 November 2021) was a Slovak pop and rock singer and songwriter, widely popular in 1980s Czechoslovakia. Born in Bratislava to a Slovak father and an English mother, he sang in Slovak, English, and Czech. He sometimes recorded in London, but lived in Slovakia and since early 1990s in Prague, Czech Republic, where he died. In the late 1970s, Žbirka co-founded two Czechoslovak pop music bands, Modus and Limit. In 1982, he rose to fame by winning the annual Zlatý slavík award for the best male singer in Czechoslovakia. After the 1992 division of Czechoslovakia, he repeated this achievement in the Slovak annual Slávik Awards, coming number one in the annual end of year charts in 2002, 2004 and 2005. Žbirka had some performances with Jon Anderson in 2012. Ľuboš Kostelný is a Slovak stage, television and film actor. Biography He was born 5 July 1981 in Martin, Czechoslovakia. He studied the Conservatory and VŠMU in Bratislava. He is a member of the ensemble of the Slovak National Theatre. He was among two Slovaks injured in 2011 Domodedovo International Airport bombing, with the actress Zuzana Fialová. Sisa Sklovská
Sisa Sklovská (born 13 October 1965) is a Slovak singer. She studied at Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU) and subsequently joined the Slovak National Theatre, where she performed for five years as a soloist. Sklovská was among the judges for the X Factor (Czech and Slovak series). Slovak president Ivan Gašparovič attended her wedding to Juraj Lelkes in January 2011. Lillie Arlene Nicole Jade McCloud (born December 7, 1958 in Rochester, New York), commonly known by her former stage name Nicole McCloud, or Nicole J. McCloud is an American dance and R&B singer.
