10th Delta Operations Squadron
The 10th Delta Operations Squadron (10 DOS) is a United States Space Force unit assigned to Space Training and Readiness Command's Space Delta 10. It provides operations support to the delta. Temporarily headquartered at the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado, it was activated on 30 September 2021 following a ceremonial activation of Space Delta 10. A squadron in air force, army aviation, or naval aviation is a unit comprising a number of military aircraft and their aircrews, usually of the same type, typically with 12 to 24 aircraft, sometimes divided into three or four flights, depending on aircraft type and air force. Land-based squadrons equipped with heavier type aircraft such as long-range bombers, cargo aircraft, or air refueling tankers have around 12 aircraft as a typical authorization, while most land-based fighter equipped units have an authorized number of 18 to 24 aircraft. The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) is a United States service academy in El Paso County, Colorado, immediately north of Colorado Springs. It educates cadets for service in the officer corps of the United States Air Force and United States Space Force.
