10 Admiral Grove
10 Admiral Grove, a property in Toxteth, Liverpool, England, is the house in which Ringo Starr lived for twenty years before he rose to fame with the Beatles. Starr's infant school, St. Silas Primary School, on Pengwern Street, was yards away from his front door. He was a sickly child and, due to his many absences from school, was taught to read and write at home. A severe bout of peritonitis led him to spend much of his seventh year at the Royal Children’s Hospital. When Starr was 13, his mother Elsie married a Londoner, Harry Graves. John Winston Ono Lennon (born John Winston Lennon; 9 October 19408 December 1980) was an English singer-songwriter, musician and activist. "Liverpool 8" is a song by Ringo Starr and is the lead track on his 2008 album of the same name. The song was also released in early December 2007 as a download- single. It was later released in physical formats ( 7" single and CD single) on 7 January 2008, a week before the release of the album. The B-side for the 7" is the third track from the album, "For Love". Despite the physical single being available for only 99 pence in the UK, it only reached number 99 there. The song is an autobiography of Starr put to song, with emphasis on his time with the Beatles. The title refers to the postal district of the Dingle area of Liverpool in which Starr was born. The single was initially produced by Starr and Mark Hudson, a long-time collaborator of Starr. Gateacre
Gateacre (; ) is a suburb of Liverpool, England, located approximately south of the city centre. It is bordered by the suburbs of Belle Vale, Childwall, and Woolton. The area is noted for its Tudor Revival architecture and contains over 100 listed buildings within a quarter-mile of its centre, making it one of the most important historic areas in the city. ''The Beatles Anthology'' is a book published in October 2000 as part of ''The Beatles Anthology'' film project. It includes interviews with all four band members, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, together with others involved, most notably producer George Martin, press officer Derek Taylor (who died three years before this book was published) and roadie and head of Apple Corps, Neil Aspinall, who oversaw the project.
