109th Territorial Defense Brigade (Ukraine)
The 109th Territorial Defense Brigade () is a military formation of the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast. It is part of Operational Command East. History Formation Pavlo Zhebrivskyi, the head of Donetsk Oblast military-civilian administration, announced on 27 April 2018 that a brigade would be formed in Donetsk Oblast. Its battalions were planned to be stationed in Kramatorsk, Bakhmut, and Pokrovsk, with an additional two battalions located in Mariupol. On 1 July 2018, the brigade was formed in Donetsk Oblast. 3,500 soldiers aged twenty-five to sixty-years old signed 3-5 year contracts. It was planned for six battalions to take part in five days of exercises in Bakhmut starting on 25 September. The battalions were stationed in Mariupol, Bakhmut, Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, Marinka and Volnovakha. Military Reserve Force

Toretsk
Toretsk (; ) is an industrial city in Bakhmut Raion, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine. It served as the administrative center of Toretsk urban hromada. As of January 2022, its population was approximately It has its origins as the hamlet Shcherbynivka, built during the mid-19th century developments in coal mining in the Donbas region. It developed over the following century with the rise of rail transport. Between 1936–2016, the city was named Dzerzhynsk after Felix Dzerzhinsky, the founder of the Soviet security service Cheka. Vuhledar (, ; , ), is a city in Volnovakha Raion, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine. It is the administrative center of Vuhledar urban hromada. At the beginning of 2022, its population was Vuhledar is a coal mining city in the cultural and economic Donbas region of eastern Ukraine, with its origins in the 1960s development of the coal industry in the region. Avdiivka (, ; , ) is a city in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. The city is located in the centre of the oblast, just north of the regional centre, Donetsk. The large Avdiivka Coke Plant is located in Avdiivka. Lyman, Ukraine
Lyman (, ; ), formerly known as Krasnyi Lyman (; ; ) from 1925 to 2016, is a city in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. Until 2016 it also served as the administrative center of Lyman Raion, though administratively it was not part of the raion and incorporated as a city of oblast significance.
