3MA (music Group)
3MA is a contemporary African music group, consisting of three players of different string instruments: Ballaké Sissoko from Mali on kora, Driss El Maloumi from Morocco on oud and Rajery from Madagascar on valiha. The band takes its name from the first two letters of each member's country of origin in French: ''Ma''dagascar, ''Ma''li, and ''Ma''roc. Artistic career The idea for an innovative African group of exclusively string instruments, with no percussion or rhythm section, was born during a first meeting in 2006 in Agadir, between Moroccan oud player and composer Driss El Maloumi and Rajery, a Madagascan musician using an 18-stringed tubular zither called valiha. To add a third instrument with an even wider sound range, they imagined that their instruments would be well matched with a kora, the traditional Malian instrument with 21 strings and a large calabash as a resonator. Triple M Sunraysia
Triple M Sunraysia (official callsign: 3RMR) is a commercial radio station owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo as part of the Triple M network. The station is broadcast to the Sunraysia region located on the Victoria–New South Wales border from studios in Mildura. The station commenced broadcasting in 1933 as 3MA, initially on the AM band at a frequency of 1360 kilohertz, before converting to the FM band as Sun FM on 20 November 1997. On 15 December 2016, the station was relaunched as Triple M. Programming Local programming is produced and broadcast from the station's Mildura studios from 6am–12pm weekdays. The station's local output consists of a three-hour breakfast show presented by Matt Jonsen, and a three-hour mornings show presented by Silco.
