Rabbi Shalom Dov Wolpo, also Sholom Ber Wolpe, (; born February 21, 1948) is a rabbi and an Israeli political activist. Wolpo is the author of more than forty books. He has become associated in recent years with right-wing political causes, and has set up a campaign group— SOS Israel—an organization that runs press and billboard campaigns promoting the belief that surrender of parts of the Land of Israel is prohibited by halacha. Later, in 2008, Wolpo established an additional group opposing land concessions, Our Land of Israel. He also has called for an independent country called the State of Judea be established in the West Bank. According to J. J. Goldberg, he has raised funds to assist families of Jewish terrorists and called for courts to pass a sentence with a death penalty on a number of Israeli politicians such as Ehud Olmert, Ehud Barak, and Tzipi Livni. Eretz Yisrael Shelanu () is a far-right religious party in Israel. Founded by Chabad Rabbi Shalom Dov Wolpo and Baruch Marzel on 11 November 2008, it seeks to prevent both the creation of a Palestinian state as well as the dismantling of Israeli settlements in the West Bank. History In 2008, in anticipation of the 2009 Knesset elections, Wolpe and his party merged with Baruch Marzel's Jewish National Front. Moshe Katsav (; born Musa Qassab; 5 December 1945) is an Israeli former politician and was the president of Israel from 2000 to 2007. He was also a leading Likud member of the Israeli Knesset and a minister in its Cabinet of Israel, cabinet. He was the first Mizrahi Jew to be elected to the presidency, and second non-Ashkenazi president after Yitzhak Navon. He is also the only ex-Israeli president to have been convicted of a crime. Natan Zahavi ׂ(; born October 27, 1946) is a journalist, radio broadcaster on station 103FM, actor and Israeli film producer. In 2000, he won the Sokolov Award. Biography Zahavi was born and raised in Tel Aviv. He is the son of Yaakov and Sara Zahavi and the younger brother of editor and literary critic Alex Zahavi and scientist Avinoam Zahavi. The family changed their name from Goldwitz to Zahavi when they immigrated to Israel. His father, Yaakov Zahavi (1903–2005), immigrated to Israel in 1925, at the end of the Fourth Aliyah.
