Boris Tokarev (; May 16, 1927 – December 17, 2002) was a Soviet athlete who competed mainly in the 100 and 200 metres. He trained in Leningrad and later in Moscow at the Armed Forces sports society. Fedor Vasilievich Tokarev (; – 6 March 1968) was a Russian weapons designer and deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from 1937 to 1950. Career Outside the former Soviet Union he is best known as the designer of the Maxim–Tokarev light machine gun, the Tokarev TT-30 and TT-33 self-loading pistol, and the Tokarev SVT-38 and SVT-40 self-loading rifle, both of which were produced in large numbers during fighting on the Eastern Front of World War II. For his contributions to Soviet arms design Tokarev received the Hero of Socialist Labor award and the USSR State Prize. Nikolai Aleksandrovich Tokarev ( Russian: Николай Александрович Токарев), born 15 September 1983 in Moscow, is a Russian pianist. Biography The musical education of Nikolai Tokarev began in 1988 at the Gnessin Music School in Moscow where he was graduated in 2001. From 2001 to 2006 he continued his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and afterwards at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule in Düsseldorf. In 2003 he was awarded the first prize of the piano competition Kissinger Klavierolymp (together with Martin Helmchen). In 2006 he won the second prize and the prize of the audience of the Concours Géza Anda in Zürich. Her work has been translated into English and is available in several anthologies as well as in ''The Talisman and Other Stories'' - a book of Tokareva's short stories translated by Rosamund Bartlett. She lives in Moscow, where she continues to write. Biography Viktoriya Tokareva was born in 1937 in Leningrad, in the Soviet Union. Her love for literature began at the age of twelve, when her mother read her "Skripka Rotschil'da" (“ Rothschild’s Violin”), a short story by Chekhov. However, this love for literature did not immediately translate into a desire to be a writer – as a young woman, Tokareva initially applied to study medicine. Willi Ivanovich Tokarev (; 11 November 1934 – 4 August 2019) was a Russian-American singer-songwriter. In the 1980s, he became famous throughout the Soviet Union for his songs about life as a Russian ''émigré'' in Brighton Beach, New York. Early life and education Vilen Ivanovich Tokarev was born in the small Cossack village of Chernyshev in Adyghe Autonomous Oblast, North Caucasus Krai, Soviet Union, on 11 November 1934. His father was a Kuban Cossack by birth. His parents named him in honor of Vladimir Lenin (see names of Soviet origin), as the Soviet name "Vilen" is an acronym for "Vladimir Ilyich Lenin". In 1941 his family moved to the town of Kaspiysk in Dagestan. In 1948, he made his first sea voyage, as a fireman. TT Pistol
The TT-30, commonly known simply as the Tokarev, is a Soviet-made semi-automatic pistol. It was developed during the late 1920s by Fedor Tokarev as a service pistol for the Soviet Armed Forces and was based on the earlier pistol designs of John Moses Browning, albeit with detail modifications to simplify production and maintenance. The Soviet Union ceased production of the TT in 1954, although derivatives of the pistol continued to be manufactured for many years in the People's Republic of China and Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
