Phobos (; astronomical naming conventions, systematic designation: ) is the innermost and larger of the two moons of Mars, natural satellites of Mars, the other being Deimos (moon), Deimos. The two moons were discovered in 1877 by American astronomer Asaph Hall. Phobos (, , Latin: ''Phobus'') is the god and personification of fear and panic in Greek mythology. Phobos was the son of Ares and Aphrodite, and the brother of Deimos. He does not have a major role in mythology outside of being his father's attendant. In Classical Greek mythology, Phobos exists as both the god of and personification of the fear brought by war. The character, created by Len Kaminski, first appeared in ''Morbius the Living Vampire'' #4 (December 1994). He is a sadist who was unable to feel pain and has prosthesic hands equipped with surgical tools. Doctor Paine is a silent partner of Dr. David Langford which got threatened, resulting in the deaths of Martine Bancroft and his business partner. is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi. USS ''Phobos'' (AK-129) was a commissioned by the U.S. Navy for service in World War II. She was responsible for delivering troops, goods and equipment to locations in the war zone. ''Phobos'' (AK–129) was laid down as SS ''Joseph H. Kibbey'' under Maritime Commission contract by Emergency Shipbuilding program#Shipyards in the program, Todd Houston Shipbuilding Co., Houston, Texas, 25 September 1943; launched 6 November 1943; sponsored by Mrs. J. S. Burrows; and delivered to the Maritime Commission 17 November 1943 for operation by the American Export Lines. Following one cruise as a merchant vessel, SS ''Joseph H.
