Șerban Doboși
Șerban Andrei Doboși (born October 25, 1951, Cluj) is a former Romanian International table tennis player. Table tennis career Playing for CSM Cluj, where he was coached by Farkas Paneth, he participated in five World Table Tennis Championships. After he retired from active play in 1982, he was named head coach of the Romanian men's national table tennis team. Personal life A graduate of the Cluj Sports Academy, he is, as of 2014, a professor at the Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, and holds leading posts at the Romanian Table Tennis Federation. Cluj
Cluj-Napoca ( ; ), or simply Cluj ( , ), is a city in northwestern Romania. It is the second-most populous city in the country and the seat of Cluj County. Farkas Paneth
Farkas Paneth (23 March 1917, Cluj, Austro-Hungary – 23 June 2009, Cluj, Romania) was a Jewish-Romanian table tennis player and coach who played for Romania. He started playing on a tailoring table using firewood instead of a net. As a player, he won two Romanian Cup titles, nine national champion titles in the doubles and mixed competitions, and several runner-up prizes in the individual competition. In 1936, when he was playing Alojzy Ehrlich, a Pole, at the 1936 World Table Tennis Championships in Prague, one of their exchanges lasted for two hours and twelve minutes. The Romanian team ( Viktor Vladone, Marin Vasile-Goldberger and Farkas Paneth) won a silver medal in that competition. World Table Tennis Championships
The World Table Tennis Championships are table tennis competitions sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). The World Championships have been held since 1926, biennially since 1957. Five individual events, which include men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's double and mixed doubles, are currently held in odd numbered years. The World Team Table Tennis Championships, which include men's team and women's team events, were first their own competition in 2000. The Team Championships are held in even numbered years. The BabeÈ™-Bolyai University ( , , commonly known as UBB) is a public research university located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The Balkan Athletics Championships or Balkan Games () is a regional athletics competition held between nations from the Balkans and organized by Association of the Balkan Athletics Federations. The first games were held in Athens in 1929, and the most recent were being held in İzmir in 2024. Organization The Games of 1929 were unofficial, and organized by the Hellenic Amateur Athletic Association (SEGAS).
