ǃKheis Local Municipality
ǃKheis Municipality () is a local municipality within the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality, in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. ''ǃKheis'' is a Khoikhoi name meaning "a place where you live, or a home". The municipality is named in recognition of the Khoekhoe people who were the first permanent dwellers of the area. Main places The 2001 census divided the municipality into the following main places: Politics The municipal council consists of eleven members elected by mixed-member proportional representation. Six councillors are elected by first-past-the-post voting in six wards, while the remaining five are chosen from party lists so that the total number of party representatives is proportional to the number of votes received. South African Standard Time
South African Standard Time (SAST) is the time zone used by all of South Africa as well as Eswatini and Lesotho. The zone is two hours ahead of UTC ( UTC+02:00) and is the same as Central Africa Time. Daylight saving time is not observed in either time zone. Solar noon in this time zone occurs at 30° E in SAST, effectively making Pietermaritzburg at the correct solar noon point, with Johannesburg and Pretoria slightly west at 28° E and Durban slightly east at 31° E.
