Željko Vidović
Željko Vidović ( sr-cyr, Жељко Видовић; born 30 May 1964) is a politician in Serbia. He was the mayor of Vrbas from 2009 to 2012 and a member of the Assembly of Vojvodina from 2008 to 2020. Vidović has been at different times a member of the Democratic Party (''Demokratska stranka'', DS), the Serbian Renewal Movement (''Srpski pokret obnove'', SPO), and the Movement for the Restoration of the Kingdom of Serbia (''Pokret obnove Kraljevine Srbije'', POKS). Early life and private career Vidović was born in Vrbas, Vojvodina, in what was then the Socialist Republic of Serbia in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He is a graduate of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Medicine and is a medical doctor with specialization in orthopedic surgery. He has been the director of the general hospital in Vrbas. Socialist Party Of Serbia
The Socialist Party of Serbia (, abbr. SPS) is a populist political party in Serbia. Ivica Dačić has led SPS as its president since 2006. SPS was founded in 1990 as a merger of the League of Communists of Serbia and Socialist Alliance of Working People of Yugoslavia with Slobodan Milošević as its first president. In the 1990 general elections, SPS became the ruling party of Serbia while Milošević was elected president of Serbia. During Milošević's rule, SPS relied on the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) from 1992 to 1993 while it later led several coalition governments with SRS, New Democracy, and Yugoslav Left. Choice for a Better Life () was a political coalition in Serbia, headed by Boris Tadić and his Democratic Party (Serbia), Democratic Party. They competed in the 2012 Serbian parliamentary election, 2012 parliamentary election and won 22.07% of the popular vote. Vojvodina ( ; sr-Cyrl, Војводина, ), officially the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, is an Autonomous administrative division, autonomous province that occupies the northernmost part of Serbia, located in Central Europe. It lies within the Pannonian Basin, bordered to the south by the national capital Belgrade and the Sava and Danube Rivers. The administrative centre, Novi Sad, is the second-largest city in Serbia. Žika Gojković
Žika Gojković ( sr-cyr, Жика Гојковић; born 9 November 1972) is a Serbian politician. He is currently serving his sixth term in Serbia's national assembly. At one time a leading figure in the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO), Gojković founded the breakaway Movement for the Restoration of the Kingdom of Serbia (POKS) in 2017. In late 2021, the POKS became divided into rival groups led by Gojković and former Belgrade mayor Vojislav Mihailović. For several months, both Gojković and Mihailović claimed to be the legitimate party leader. Gojković legally headed the party until 1 August 2022, when the Serbian ministry of public administration and local self-government ruled in favour of Mihailović. Proportional Representation
Proportional representation (PR) refers to any electoral system under which subgroups of an electorate are reflected proportionately in the elected body. The concept applies mainly to political divisions (Political party, political parties) among voters. The aim of such systems is that all votes cast contribute to the result so that each representative in an assembly is mandated by a roughly equal number of voters, and therefore all votes have equal weight. Under other election systems, a bare Plurality (voting), plurality or a scant majority in a district are all that are used to elect a member or group of members. PR systems provide balanced representation to different factions, usually defined by parties, reflecting how votes were cast. Milan Stanimirović
Milan Stanimirović ( sr-cyr, Милан Станимировић; born 10 May 1960) is a politician in Serbia. He served in the National Assembly of Serbia for most of the period from 2001 to 2012 as a member of the Democratic Party (''Demokratska stranka'', DS) and has also served two terms as mayor of Vrbas. Stanimirović is now a member of the Social Democratic Party (''Socijaldemokratska stranka'', SDS). Early life and private career Stanimirović was born in Vrbas, Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, in what was then the People's Republic of Serbia in the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia.
