Žarko Paspalj
Žarko Paspalj (Serbian Cyrillic: Жарко Паспаљ; born March 27, 1966) is a retired Serbian professional basketball player and sports administrator. The EuroLeague Final Four MVP in 1994, his sixteen and a half seasons career was mostly spent in Yugoslavia and Greece, along with several short stints in the NBA, France, and Italy. Since 2009, he has been vice-president of the Serbian Olympic Committee. Paspalj was a FIBA European Selection in 1991. For years, Paspalj was an automatic choice for Yugoslavia's senior national team, representing his country in one FIBA World Cup, two Olympics, and four EuroBaskets. Žarko Laušević
Žarko Laušević ( sr-cyr, Жарко Лаушевић; ; 19 January 1960 – 15 November 2023) was a Serbian actor. He became a leading actor early in his career. By the age of 33, he was a major star across the former Yugoslavia on both stage and screen. Early years Žarko Laušević was born on 19 January 1960, in Cetinje, PR Montenegro, FPR Yugoslavia. He got his first TV role at the age of eighteen. In 1982, immediately upon graduating from the University of Belgrade’s Academy of Theatrical Arts, he was cast in his first lead film role. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he received mostly lead roles in 25 movies, 17 TV shows and numerous theatrical productions across Yugoslavia. Žarko (nobleman)
Žarko ( sr-Cyrl, Жарко; 1336–before 1371) was a 14th-century Serbian nobleman. After the death of Serbian Emperor Dušan the Mighty (r. 1331–1355†), he became a lord of the coasts of the Zeta region, under the succeeding Emperor Uroš the Weak (r. 1355–1371). Around 1356 he married Teodora Dejanović,„Rodoslovne tablice i grbovi srpskih dinastija i vlastele (prema tablicama Alekse Ivića)“ (drugo znatno dopunjeno i prošireno izdanje), Beograd, 1991. the daughter of Dejan Dragaš and Theodora Nemanjić (sister of Dušan and Symeon Siniša). Žarko Dolinar
Žarko Dolinar (3 July 1920 – 9 March 2003) was a Croatian biologist and table tennis player who won eight medals at the World Table Tennis Championships. He was born in a family of Slovene economic immigrants to Croatia. In 1939, at the age of 18 he became the national champion of Yugoslavia. Dolinar was champion of the Independent State of Croatia multiple times, and also competed for its national team on nine occasions. He also won three English Open titles. Dolinar is one of few world sporting champions with a Ph.D. degree. He graduated from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1949, and received a doctorate in 1959. Žarko Korać ( sr-Cyrl, Жарко Кораћ; born 9 March 1947) is a Serbian psychologist and politician. Žarko Potočnjak (3 February 1946 – 21 October 2021) was a Croatian theatre, television and film actor. Potočnjak graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Art, University of Zagreb, Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Art in 1972. Upon graduation he was hired as a regular member at the ''Komedija'' and ''Gavella Drama Theatre, Gavella'' theatres in Zagreb, and since 1994 he has been a member of cast at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. Apart from his work in theatre, Potočnjak has appeared in about 30 television series and a number of film productions since the 1970s. In 1983, he married actress Asja Jovanović, with whom he has a daughter Mirna. During the Croatian War of Independence he served with the 106th Croatian Army brigade based in Osijek. Žarko Olarević (; born 28 July 1950) is a Serbian former Association football, football manager and player. Club career As one of the Stjepan Bobek, Bobek Babes, Olarević made his competitive debut for FK Partizan, Partizan in the second half of the 1967–68 Yugoslav First League, 1967–68 season. He later spent two seasons on loan at FK Proleter Zrenjanin, Proleter Zrenjanin, before returning to Partizan. In the 1972 winter transfer window, Olarević was transferred to FK Radnički Kragujevac, Radnički Kragujevac. Žarko Nikolić (; 16 October 1936 – 22 August 2011) was a Yugoslav and Serbian footballer who played as a defender. Career Born in Novi Sad, Nikolić played for Vojvodina from 1954 to 1966, amassing over 200 appearances in the Yugoslav First League and helping them win the championship in the 1965–66 season. He subsequently moved abroad to West Germany and joined Schalke 04, spending two seasons at the club. Before retiring from the game, Nikolić had a brief second spell with Vojvodina. At international level, Nikolić was capped nine times for Yugoslavia. He represented his country at one European Nations' Cup (finishing runner-up in 1960) and one World Cup (1962). Žarko Petan Žarko Petan (27 March 1929 – 2 May 2014) was a Slovenian writer, essayist, screenwriter, and theatre and film director. He is best known as a writer of aphorisms. Petan was born into a relatively wealthy urban middle-class family in Ljubljana, Slovenia, then part of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. He spent his childhood in Zagreb, Croatia, where his father owned a hotel in the city centre. In 1940, the family moved to Maribor in Slovenia, where they owned a café. After the Axis invasion of Yugoslavia in 1941, they moved to Trieste to escape Nazi German persecution. After the end of World War II, they returned to Maribor. Petan soon entered into conflict with the new Communist regime. In 1949, while serving in the Yugoslav People's Army, he was accused of enemy propaganda and sentenced to 9 years in jail. Žarko Zrenjanin "Uča" ( sr-Cyrl, Жарко Зрењанин, ; 11 September 1902 – 4 November 1942) was a Yugoslav partisan and National Hero of Yugoslavia. The city of Zrenjanin, in Serbia, is named after him, since 1946. Zrenjanin was born in Izbistye, Kingdom of Hungary (today Izbište, Serbia). He became a leader of the Vojvodina Communists and when World War II began, the Partisans. Zrenjanin endured torture and months of incarceration by the Nazis during the Second World War. He was released and later killed in Pavliš while trying to escape recapture. Žarko Čabarkapa ( sr-cyrl, Жарко Чабаркапа, ; born 21 May 1981) is a Montenegrin–Serbian professional basketball executive and former player who is Player personnel director at Fenerbahçe Basketball.
