Suica
Suica () is a prepaid rechargeable contactless smart card and electronic money system used as a fare card on train lines and other public transport systems in Japan, launched on November 18, 2001, by East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The card can be used across the nation as part of Japan's Nationwide Mutual Usage Service. The card is also widely used as electronic money for purchases at stores and kiosks, especially at convenience stores and within train stations. In 2018, JR East reported that Suica was used for 6.6 million daily transactions. As of October 2023, 95.64 million Suica (including Mobile Suica) have been issued, and 1.63 million stores accept payment via Suica's digital currency. Since Suica is completely interoperable with Pasmo, it is supported on virtually any train, tramway, or bus system in Tokyo and the Greater Tokyo Area (excluding various limited and ''shinkansen'' trains, as well as some local buses). Dubravka Šuica
Dubravka Šuica (; ; born 20 May 1957) is a Croatian politician of the centre-right Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) who was Vice-President of the European Commission and the Commissioner for Democracy and Demography from 2019 to 2024. She previously served as a member of the European Parliament from 2013 to 2019. Since December 2024 she serves as the European Commissioner for Mediterranean in the Von der Leyen Commission II. She served two consecutive terms as mayor of Dubrovnik between 2001 and 2009. She was the first female mayor of Dubrovnik and one of the first female mayors of major Croatian cities in modern Croatia. She served as a member of the Croatian Parliament in three terms from 2001 to 2011. It is also known locally and in older written sources as ''Švica''. It shares its name with Šujica Creek, a left tributary of the Gradaščica River. Šuica (river)
The Šuica ( cyrl, Шуица) which is known as the Šujica (Шујица), is a sinking river flowing through Duvanjsko Polje and the wider region of Tropolje in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The river also runs through its subterranean section, which begins at the point where river goes underground within the main estavelle (ponor) at Kovači. This section of the Šuica is traversable for trained speleologists with proper equipment. Its sources are Mali Stržanj and Veliki Stržanj, both close to village of Stržanj. It flows through and drains most of its waters from Kupreško Polje, the Šuica Valley and Duvanjsko Polje.
