Şirvan District is a district of Siirt Province in Turkey. The town of Şirvan, Siirt, Şirvan is the seat and the district had a population of 21,321 in 2021. Its area is 936 km2. Şirvan, Siirt
Şirvan (, , , ) is a municipality in the Şirvan District of Siirt Province in southeastern Turkey. It is populated by Kurds of the Silokan and Sturkiyan tribes and had a population of 3,958 in 2021. Neighborhoods The municipality is divided into the neighborhoods of Bağcılar, Fatih, Kırtepe, Küfre and Sit. History Şirvan is attested in the 13th century by Yaqut al-Hamawi in ''Mu'jam al-Buldan''. Under the Ottoman Empire, Şirvan was a ''kaza#Ottoman Empire, kaza'' (district) of the sanjak#Ottoman Empire, sanjak of Siirt in the Bitlis Vilayet, and the village of Küfre (ܫܪܘܐܢ, "village" in Syriac language, Syriac, today called Şirvan) served as its administrative centre.
