İsmet Ay

	İsmet Ay İsmet Ay (28 December 1924 – 7 October 2004) was a Turkish actor. Ay graduated from the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory Theater Department. He joined the Istanbul City Theatres, City Theatres in 1948 and started his acting career there. After working at the City Theaters for a long period of time, he started to appear in movies. He worked for the City Theaters for 32 years before retiring in 1980. He gained acclaim for his role as "Sermet" in the ''Süper Baba'' series. Meanwhile, he continued his career on stage as a guest artist in the theatre founded by Tolga Aşkıner and Ali Poyrazoğlu. Towards the end of his life, the actor starred in the TV series ''Cennet Mahallesi'' even though he was suffering from poor health. Ay died in 2004 and was buried in Şile. 	Şile Şile is a municipality and Districts of Turkey, district of Istanbul Province, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 800 km2, and its population is 43,464 (2022). 	Afife Jale Afife Jale (1902 – 24 July 1941) was a Turkish stage actress, best known as the first Muslim theatre actress in Turkey. Career Afife was studying at the Girls Industry School in Istanbul; however, she wanted to be an actress. In the Ottoman Empire, Muslim Turkish women were not allowed to play on stage by a decree of the Ministry of the Interior. Only non-Muslim women of Greek, Armenian, or Jewish minorities were eligible for being cast. Afife's father was against a theatre career of her because he considered it unsound. For this reason, she ran away from her parents’ house. She entered as a trainee the theatre of the newly established city conservatory (). The Conservatory had opened up a course to train Muslim women actresses with the rationale to play for women audience only.
