İsmail Hakkı Sunat
İsmail Hakkı Sunat (17 October 1966 – 14 July 2004) was a Turkish theater, cinema and television actor. İsmail Hakkı Sunat, artist of Ankara State Theater's General Directorate, took part in many theater plays. The artist, who moved from Ankara to the Istanbul State Theater, also starred in commercials, TV series and a movie. Sunat, who was married to Deniz Uğur and has a child, also worked in the search and rescue team working in the earthquake of 17 August 1999. The artist, who was killed by shooting with a gun, was shown as "one of the theater hopes of the future". He was buried in Gallipoli. Adıyaman
Adıyaman () is a city in southeastern Turkey. It is the administrative centre of Adıyaman Province and Adıyaman District. Its population is 267,131 (2021). The inhabitants of the city are mostly Turkish and Kurdish. The city was one of the worst affected by the February 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquakes. Many buildings were destroyed and many lives lost in part because bad weather and damage to the transport infrastructure delayed the arrival of rescue teams. Afife Jale
Afife Jale (1902 – 24 July 1941) was a Turkish stage actress, best known as the first Muslim theatre actress in Turkey. Career Afife was studying at the Girls Industry School in Istanbul; however, she wanted to be an actress. In the Ottoman Empire, Muslim Turkish women were not allowed to play on stage by a decree of the Ministry of the Interior. Only non-Muslim women of Greek, Armenian, or Jewish minorities were eligible for being cast. Afife's father was against a theatre career of her because he considered it unsound. For this reason, she ran away from her parents’ house. She entered as a trainee the theatre of the newly established city conservatory (). The Conservatory had opened up a course to train Muslim women actresses with the rationale to play for women audience only. An earthquake of moment magnitude 7.6 struck Kocaeli Province, Turkey on 17 August 1999. According to official figures, at least 18,373 people died and 48,901 people were injured during the earthquake, and 5,840 people were missing. At least 155 deaths were associated with the tsunami.
