İmişli
Imishli () is a city and the capital of the Imishli District of Azerbaijan. History During the Tsardom of Russia, Qaradonlu belonged to the Javad Khan administration. In 1906, the first School of Qaradonlu region was established, with many living-buildings, caravanserais, mills and shops in the area. In August 1930, Qaradonlu was organized in Mil-Mugan as a region. As early as the October Revolution, land-reclamation and irrigation work were made based on the intense irrigated plant-growing. In 1933, Qaradonlu Machine-Tractor Plant was built in the Qaradonlu historical region. As a result of the construction of the railway between Ələt and Yerevan, people moved from the center of the region to suburbs of the railway stations. Imishli District
Imishli District () is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the centre of the country and belongs to the Central Aran Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Beylagan, Zardab, Kurdamir, Sabirabad, Saatly, Bilasuvar, and the Ardabil Province of Iran. Its capital and largest city is Imishli. As of 2020, the district had a population of 158,682. Geography The district is mostly lowlands and its territory is below sea level. The Kura river forms the northern border of the district, while Aras river forms part of the southern border and flows through the centre of the district. Grey and partly grey soils are spread in the district. The district has several natural mineral resources such as oil and gas and sand-gravel. The climate is mostly mild warm and dry desert. The Azerbaijan First League () is the second highest professional division in Azerbaijani professional football. The league is run by AFFA. The winner promotes to Premier Division. Mil-Muğan FK
Mil-Muğan FK was an Azerbaijani football club based in Imishli that last played in the Azerbaijan First Division. The club was founded in 2004 by МКТ Istehsalat-Kommersiya, a cotton manufacturing company. History The club was immediately admitted to the AFFA Supreme League after its formation. They finished 8th in 2004/05 and 9th in 2005/06. In 2006 the club also played in the UEFA Intertoto Cup due to the rejection of several Azerbaijan clubs in this competition. Although it was successful in winning the home game against Moldovan Tiraspol in the first stage (1:0), the club lost in Moldova (1:2) and thus, was out of the tournament. The 2006/07 became the most successful season in club history. The team took 5th place and reached the Azerbaijan Cup final, losing 1:0 to FK Khazar Lankaran. Saatly District () is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the centre of the country, belonging to the Central Aran Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Imishli, Sabirabad, and Bilasuvar. Its capital and largest city is Saatly. As of 2020, the district had a population of 109,100. History There are several findings relating to ancient settlements in the Saatly District. Archaeological monuments, as well as pottery materials of the 2nd and 3rd millennials B.C, were excavated in villages of Azadkend, Fatalikend, Jafarkhan, Varkhan and Alisoltanly. Bilasuvar District () is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the south-east of the country, in the Shirvan-Salyan Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Imishli, Saatly, Sabirabad, Salyan, Neftchala, Jalilabad, and Ardabil Province of Iran. Its capital and largest city is Bilasuvar.
