İhap Hulusi Görey
Ä°hap Hulusi Görey (November 28, 1898, in Cairo – March 27, 1986, in Istanbul), was the first international Turkish graphic artist best known for his illustrations on posters and labels of several Turkish brands in the Turkey, Republican era. Early life Ihap Hulusi's father was a well-known architect in Cairo and he wanted his son become a successful diplomat. For this Ihap Hulusi was sent to English schools in Cairo. However, his primary interest was in painting. In the meantime, he took lessons in painting by mail from Germany. In 1920, after graduating from the high school, Ihap Hulusi went to Munich, Germany, and studied painting for five years specializing in illustrations. Following his return, Ä°hap Hulusi's father enrolled him to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Istanbul against his will. Turkish Alphabet
The Turkish alphabet () is a Latin-script alphabet used for writing the Turkish language, consisting of 29 letters, seven of which ( Ç, Ğ, I, İ, Ö, Ş and Ü) have been modified from their Latin originals for the phonetic requirements of the language. This alphabet represents modern Turkish pronunciation with a high degree of accuracy and specificity. Mandated in 1928 as part of Atatürk's Reforms, it is the current official alphabet and the latest in a series of distinct alphabets used in different eras. Fernet-Branca () is an Italian brand of fernet, a style of ''Amaro (liqueur), amaro'' or bitters. It was formulated in Milan in 1845, and is manufactured there by Fratelli Branca, Fratelli Branca Distillerie. Cinzano () is an Italian brand of vermouth, a brand owned since 1999 by Campari Group, Gruppo Campari. John Haig
John Thomas Haig, (December 15, 1877 – October 23, 1962) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served as parliamentary leader of the Manitoba Conservative Party in 1921–22. Born in Colborne, Ontario, Haig received his BA from the University of Manitoba, was called to the Manitoba bar in 1904 and worked as a Barrister-at-law. In 1907, he married Josephine M. Dickie. He was elected to the Winnipeg Public School Board in 1908, and continued to hold this position after entering provincial politics, also serving as board chairman.
