Ħamrun Spartans F.C.
Ħamrun Spartans Football Club is a Maltese professional association football, football club based in Hamrun, Ħamrun. Since being founded in 1907, Ħamrun Spartans have won 11 league championships, the latest one being in 2025, while being runners-up eleven times. One of the stalwarts in the club history, Stefan Sultana, has scored a total of 252 goals in his career (225 of them while playing for the club), which makes him Malta's top-scorer (per 12 May 2007). In 2014 they were charged with match fixing and relegated to the first division. History Ħamrun Spartans were founded in 1907. Victor Tedesco Stadium
The Victor Tedesco Stadium is a stadium in Hamrun, Malta. It opened in 1996. It has a capacity of 6,000, with 1,800 seated. It is the home ground of Maltese football club Ħamrun Spartans F.C., Ħamrun Spartans, who currently play in the Maltese Premier League. It is used for matches from the Maltese Premier League, the Maltese First Division, and some games from the Maltese Second Division. It is also used by all the Ħamrun Spartans teams from the youth teams to the senior teams for training. The stadium also has a bar, underground dressing rooms, some offices, and a five-a-side pitch next door. On 4 June 2010 rugby league was played at the ground. Maltese Second Division
The Maltese Second Division (also known as the BOV Second Division due to sponsorship reasons) was the third-highest division in Maltese football until 2020 when it was merged with the Maltese Third Division to create the National Amateur League. Structure 13 clubs formed the league and each played every other club twice. Three points were awarded for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss. At the end of the season, the top two teams were promoted to the First Division, while the bottom two were relegated to the Third Division. The 2021–22 UEFA Champions League was the 67th season of Europe's premier club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 30th season since it was renamed from the European Champion Clubs' Cup to the UEFA Champions League. The Malta Football Association (MFA; ) is the governing body of football (soccer), football in Malta. The Association organises the Maltese Football League for both men and women and several other competitions, including knockout competitions for the top teams for both genders. Matthew Guillaumier (; born 9 April 1998) is a Maltese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Polish club Stal Mielec and the Malta national team. Club career Guillaumier began his youth career with St. Andrews at the age of five. Juan Carlos Corbalan (born 3 March 1997) is a Maltese footballer who plays as a winger for Maltese Premier League club Ħamrun Spartans F.C. and the Malta national team. Club career Corbalan started his career within Balzan's youth system, making his debut for the senior team on 24 February 2013 in a 3–1 win against Ħamrun Spartans.
