Đào Nguyên Cát
Đào Nguyên Cát (1927 – 6 October 2023) was a Vietnamese economist, professor and journalist. He was the Founder CEO, founding and editor-in-chief of ''Vietnam Economic Times, The Vietnam Economic Times'', one of the country's oldest and most influential economics and business publications. He played a prominent role during Vietnam's Đổi Mới Microeconomic reform, economic reform, and served as the Chairperson, Chairman of the :vi:Hội Khoa học Kinh tế Việt Nam, Vietnam Economic Association. Professor Cát was awarded the :vi:Huân chương Kháng chiến, Resistance Medal (2nd Class Honor) by the Government of Vietnam. Cát died on 6 October 2023, at the age of 96. Founder CEO
A founder CEO, often written as founder / CEO and also as founder & CEO is an individual who establishes a company as a founding CEO and holds its chief executive officer, Organizatinal Founder(CEO) position. If the firm's CEO is not a founder or the founder CEO has succeeded, the firm is said to be led by a non-founder CEO or successor CEO. Research has highlighted differences between the founder and non-founder CEOs that influence firm performance. These differences include: stock performance, equity stake in the firm, managerial incentives, research and development investment, and outlook towards mergers and acquisitions. Đổi Mới
(; ) is the name given to the economic reforms process of Vietnam since late 1986 with the goal of creating a " socialist-oriented market economy". The term itself is a general term with wide use in the Vietnamese language meaning "innovate" or "renovate". However, the Đổi Mới Policy () refers specifically to these reforms that sought to transition Vietnam from a command economy to a socialist-oriented market economy. The economic reforms in the Soviet Union under Gorbachev inspired the Vietnamese government. However, unlike the Soviet Union but like China, the communist rulers in Vietnam refused political reform. The Đổi Mới economic reforms were initiated by the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in December 1986 during the party's 6th National Congress. Microeconomic Reform
Microeconomic reform (or often just economic reform) comprises policies directed to achieve improvements in economic efficiency, either by eliminating or reducing distortions in individual sectors of the economy or by reforming economy-wide policies such as tax policy and competition policy with an emphasis on economic efficiency, rather than other goals such as equity or employment growth. "Economic reform" usually refers to deregulation, or at times to reduction in the size of government, to remove distortions caused by regulations or the presence of government, rather than new or increased regulations or government programs to reduce distortions caused by market failure.
