Čáslav (other)
Čáslav (; ) is a town in Kutná Hora District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 11,000 inhabitants. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Administrative parts Čáslav is made up of the town parts of Čáslav-Nové Město ("New Town") and Čáslav-Staré Město ("Old Town"), and the village of Filipov. Etymology The name is derived from the personal name Čáslav. Geography Čáslav is located about southeast of Kutná Hora and southwest of Pardubice. It lies in a flat agricultural landscape of the Central Elbe Table. The Brslenka Stream flows through the town and supplies several ponds, including Podměstský in the town centre. The Klejnárka River crosses the western part of the municipal territory. History The history of Čáslav begins in the 9th century with the founding of a gord and settlement called Hrádek. Ottokar II Of Bohemia
Ottokar II ( cs, Přemysl Otakar II.; , in Městec Králové, Bohemia – 26 August 1278, in Dürnkrut, Lower Austria), the Iron and Golden King, was a member of the Přemyslid dynasty who reigned as King of Bohemia from 1253 until his death in 1278. He also held the titles of Margrave of Moravia from 1247, Duke of Austria from 1251, and Duke of Styria from 1260, as well as Duke of Carinthia and landgrave of Carniola from 1269. With Ottokar's rule, the Přemyslids reached the peak of their power in the Holy Roman Empire. His expectations of the imperial crown, however, were never fulfilled. Ottokar was the second son of King Wenceslaus I of Bohemia (reigned 1230–1253). The Czech National Football League ( cs, Fotbalová národní liga, ''FNL''), currently known as Fortuna národní liga due to sponsorship reasons, is the second level professional association football league in the Czech Republic. Before 2013 it was known as 2. liga or Druhá liga. The top two teams each season are eligible for promotion to the Czech First League. The league replaced the I.ČNL (I. Česká národní liga; First Czech National League), which had been established following the end of the nationwide Czechoslovak Second League in 1977. FK Čáslav
FK Čáslav is a Czech football club from Čáslav. It plays in the Czech Fourth Division. History The first football team in Čáslav was founded in 1902 when the Septimáni school established the first football eleven named SK Stella (star) Čáslav. This sporting initiative was looked on sympathetically by a college professor and allowed them to play their matches on a military field. The situation rapidly changed and football soon became a favourite sport in Čáslav. In 1927 the football team became Čáslav SK. This continued throughout the 1930s and was renamed DSK Čáslav, but soon after disappeared from playing altogether. In 1943 Slavoj Čáslav was founded, which in 1949 merged with SK Čáslav to create a single club called SK Kosmos Čáslav. Třemošnice () is a town in Chrudim District in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 3,300 inhabitants. Administrative parts Villages of Hedvikov, Kubíkovy Duby, Lhůty, Podhradí, Skoranov, Starý Dvůr and Závratec are administrative parts of Třemošnice. Geography Třemošnice is located about southwest of Chrudim and southwest of Pardubice. It lies on the border of the Iron Mountains and Central Elbe Table. Žďár nad Sázavou (; german: Saar) is a town in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 20,000 inhabitants. It is situated on a major rail link between Prague and Brno. Kraj
A kraj ( ''kraje'') is the highest-level administrative unit in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. For lack of other English expressions, the Slavic term is often translated as "province", "region", or "territory", although it approximately means "(part of) country", or "(part of) countryside". A ''kraj'' is subdivided into ''okresy'' ("districts"). The first ''kraje'' were created in the Kingdom of Bohemia during the reign of Charles IV in the 14th century and they lasted till 1862/68. ''Kraje'' were reintroduced in 1949 in Czechoslovakia and still exist today (except for the early 1990s) in its successor states despite many rearrangements.
