Þorvaldur Örlygsson
Þorvaldur "Toddy" Örlygsson (born 2 August 1966) is an Icelandic former footballer who played as a midfielder. After retiring, he has worked as a manager, with his most recent side being Icelandic club Keflavík. He is the younger brother of former international player Ormarr Örlygsson. Þorvaldur started at Knattspyrnufélag Akureyrar and played most of his career in England, first in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest and later for First Division clubs Stoke City and Oldham Athletic before returning to Iceland. On 24 February 2024, Þorvaldur was elected as chairman of the Football Association of Iceland. Career "Toddy" arrived at Nottingham Forest in December 1989 for a fee of £175,000 from KA Akureyri after impressing Brian Clough. Stjarnan Men's Football
Stjarnan FC () is the men's football department of the Ungmennafélagið Stjarnan multi-sport club. It is based in Garðabær, Iceland, and currently plays in the Besta deild karla, the top-tier men's football league in Iceland. History The association was founded in 1960. The men's division played in 1980 in the first Icelandic League (then Landsbankadeild) and managed the 2000 promotion again to the highest Icelandic league. In 2008 men's reached the summit and thus to play in Úrvalsdeild since 2009. The club gained worldwide fame when their elaborate goal celebrations, including highly choreographed depictions of landing a fish, diving, a human toilet, a human bicycle, and a Rambo shooting spree, were published widely across the Internet and football television shows. Victoria Ground
The Victoria Ground was the home ground of Stoke City from 1878 until 1997, when the club relocated to the Britannia Stadium after 119 years. At the time of its demolition it was the oldest operational ground in the Football League. History The Victoria Ground had been Stoke City's home since March 1878 and the first match was the inaugural Staffordshire Cup final against Talke Rangers on 28 March 1878, Stoke won 1–0 before 2,500 spectators. The ground took its name from the nearby Victoria Hotel and was originally an oval shape, built to accommodate a running track and used by the local athletic club. There was an open grass bank at each end, and a small but compact wooden stand on the east side (Boothen Road) capable of housing 1,000 people. Kevin John Russell (born 6 December 1966) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker for Brighton & Hove Albion, Portsmouth, Wrexham, Leicester City, Peterborough United, Cardiff City, Hereford United, Stoke City, Burnley, AFC Bournemouth and Notts County F.C., Notts County. Lou Macari
Luigi Macari (born 7 June 1949) is a Scottish former footballer and manager. He began his playing career at Celtic where he was one of the Quality Street Gang, the outstanding reserve team that emerged in the late 1960s that also included Kenny Dalglish and Danny McGrain. He is best known for his time at Manchester United, where he played over 400 games. He helped them win promotion back to the First Division and then played in their FA Cup win of 1977. Frank Clark (footballer)
Frank Clark (born 9 September 1943) is an English former footballer and manager, and former chairman of Nottingham Forest. Clark played in over 400 games for Newcastle United before moving to Nottingham Forest where he won the European Cup. After retiring as a player, he managed Leyton Orient for nine years (followed by a two-year spell as the club's managing director) and then returned to Nottingham Forest as manager between 1993 and 1996. The 1992–93 season was the 113th season of competitive football in England. The season saw the Premier League in its first season, replacing Division One of the Football League as the top league in England. Every team in the Premier League played each other twice within the season, one game away and one at home, and were awarded three points for a win and one for a draw. Brian Howard Clough ( ; 21 March 1935 – 20 September 2004) was an English football player and manager, primarily known for his successes as a manager with Derby County and Nottingham Forest. The Football League First Division was the top division of the Football League in England from 1888 until the end of the 1991–92 season, when its teams broke away to form the Premier League.
