Ümmügülsüm
Ümmügülsüm (1899, Novkhani, Baku district – 1944, Shamakhi) was an Azerbaijani poet. She was the sister of Mahammadali Rasulzade, one of the founders of the Musavat Party, and the cousin and sister-in-law of Mahammad Amin Rasulzade, who served as the head of the Musavat Party and the National Council of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. Life Ümmügülsüm Abdulaziz's daughter, born in 1899 in the village of Novkhani into a religious family, learned Arabic and Persian languages from her father at home. She began writing poetry in 1908. Her poems and stories were published in newspapers and journals such as "Iqbal", "Yeni Iqbal", "Açıq söz", "Qurtuluş", "Dirilik", "Məktəb", "Qardaş köməyi", "Azərbaycan", and others. In 1914, her stories started being published in the press, and in 1915, her story "Solğun çiçək" received an award in a competition announced by the "Qurtuluş" journal. Ogtay Sadigzade
Ogtay Seyid Huseyn oghlu Sadigzade (, 24 February 1921 – 20 December 2014) was a Soviet and Azerbaijani visual artist. He was awarded the title People's Artist of Azerbaijan, People's Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1992), laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2014), Personal pensioner of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2002). Biography Ogtay Sadigzade was born on February 21, 1921, in Khizi. From 1935 to 1939, he studied at the Baku Art Technical College and attracted the attention of art critics with his early works. In 1941, as a member of a repressed family, Ogtay Sadigzade was exiled because his father Seyid Husein (1887-1938) was accused of being "An Enemy of the People". Stalin's agents also arrested his mother Ümmügülsüm, Ummugulsum and sentenced her to eight years in the Gulag, GULAG alongside his younger brother Jighatay, who died in the GULAG. Temlag (Темла́г), Temnikovsky Corrective Labor Camp (Темниковский исправи́тельно-трудово́й ла́герь), or Temnikovsky ITL (Темниковский ИТЛ) was a camp of the Gulag labor camp system of the Soviet Union. It was in the Mordovian ASSR. Its name derives from the town of Temnikov because it was in Temnikov District, although its administration was in Yavas. It existed during 1931-1948. Major industries were logging, wood processing industries, and railroad construction. In addition it had a wide variety of other small-scale industries: construction, metalworking, railroad servicing, clothing and footwear production, etc. Upon liquidation its assets were split. Tagiyev's Theater
"Taghiyev’s Theater" () is the first theater in Baku. It was built in 1883 at the expense of the industrialist and philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev. It staged both national plays and operas, as well as the works of the world classics. Here, in January 1908, the premiere of the first Azerbaijani national opera "Leyli and Majnun", by Uzeyir Hajibeyov, took place. The theater's building burned several times and was rebuilt anew. Since the late 1930s, the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater named after A. M. Azizbeyov, and since 1960 - the Theater of Musical Comedy in the name of Shikhali Kurbanov were located in its building. Jalil Huseyngulu oghlu Mammadguluzadeh (, ; 22 February 1869 – 4 January 1932), was an Azerbaijani people, Azerbaijani List of satirists and satires, satirist and writer.
