''Üebermutter'' is a German band founded by singer Luci van Org in 2006. It is associated with the Neue Deutsche Härte style and has a satirical image based on postfeminism and militaristic aesthetics. The band released its debut album ''Unheil!'' through Roadrunner Records in 2008. History Berlin singer Luci van Org had a mainstream hit in Germany in 1994 with the pop group Lucilectric, after which she continued to make music in several styles and constellations. She says she always was into heavy music and dark, brutal aesthetics. In 2006, she founded Üebermutter together with on guitar, Peggy Junghanns on guitar, Anja Schlemm on bass and Sabine Ahlbrecht on drums. The band signed with Roadrunner Records which released its debut album ''Unheil!'' on 4 April 2008. The album track "Heim und Herd" was released as a single with a music video. Ina Lucia Hildebrand (born 1 September 1971), known professionally as Luci van Org, is a German musician and writer. She is best known as the singer of the group Lucilectric, whose song "Mädchen (song), Mädchen" was a hit in Germany in 1994. Since then, she has written music for other artists and her own projects Das Haus von Luci, Üebermutter, Meystersinger and Lucina Soteira, which span over multiple genres. She has written and acted in films and television series and is the author of several novels inspired by Germanic mythology. Early life Ina Lucia Korch was born in Berlin's Tempelhof district on 1 September 1971. Her parents were the sculptor and graphic artist and the painter Katharina Korch. Lucilectric was a German pop/rock duo founded in 1993 by Luci van Org and producer . They are known primarily for their 1994 hit single "Mädchen (song), Mädchen" ("Girl"), which spent 12 weeks in the Media Control Charts, German Top 10, eventually reaching number two. The single also charted in the Switzerland, Swiss, Austrian and Netherlands, Dutch markets. ''Hey Süßer'' (''Hey sweetheart''), another of single from the same album, also reached the Top 40 in 1994. The (WGT; German for "Wave Gothic Meeting") is an annual world festival for "dark" music and "dark culture" in Leipzig, Germany. 150+ bands and artists from various backgrounds (gothic rock, Electronic body music, EBM, Industrial music, industrial, Noise (music), noise, darkwave, neo-folk, Neoclassical music, neo-classical and Medieval music, medieval music being examples) play at several venues throughout the city over four days on Pentecost, Whitsuntide.
