Øysand
Øysand or Øysanden is a small village area in the northern part of Melhus Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village sits on the south side of the mouth of the Gaula River, at the head of the Gaulosen, an arm off the main Trondheim Fjord. Geography The Øysand area measures about . The Gaula River borders Øysanden to the north and east, separating it from Trondheim Municipality to the northeast. To the west there is a shallow sandy beach on the shore of Gaulosen, a branch of Trondheim Fjord. To the south, the section of European route E39 from Klett to Orkanger crosses the area. Øysanden is a flat plain and most of the land is used for growing grain. There is also some industry there and a campground along the beach. The best-known native of the area is the musician, composer, and actor Ivar Gafseth, who is known from the television series '' The Julekalender'' and the Trøndelag Theater. Gaulosen Og Øysand
Gaulosen is a fjord in Trøndelag county, Norway. The long fjord is an arm off the large Trondheimsfjorden. The fjord forms the border between Trondheim Municipality, Skaun Municipality, and Melhus Municipality. The river Gaula (Trøndelag), Gaula flows into the fjord at Øysand. This is the only major river delta in southern Norway that has not been affected by land reclamation, and has been used as an industrial area and airport. However, there has been no shortage of plans throughout history to exploit the area. During World War II, the Germans planned to build a large city, Nordstern (city), Neu-Drontheim at Øysand and in Leinstrand. You can still see the remains of a submarine harbor in Buvikberga between Øysand and Buvika. There are now four nature reserves and a landscape conservation area here. ''Nordstern'' (), usually referred to as ''Neu Drontheim'' (), was a Nazi plan for the creation of a new metropolis located in German-occupied Norway. It was planned to be built in Øysand, southwest of the city of Trondheim, and have a population of around 250,000 to 300,000 German inhabitants. Nordstern's construction would be in conjunction with a major ''Kriegsmarine'' base due to the significant strategic importance of Trondheim Fjord to the German military. The new city and base would give Germany unprecedented maritime control over the North Atlantic area, a move strongly supported by ''Großadmiral''s Erich Raeder and Karl Dönitz. Klett is a small village in Trondheim Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located in the borough of Heimdal and it is considered a part of the larger village of Nypan, Norway, Nypan by Statistics Norway. The village of Tiller, Norway, Tiller lies to the northeast, the Byneset area lies to the west, and the village of Melhus (village), Melhus lies to the south. Most of the area surrounding the village is farmland. Orkanger
Orkanger is a town and the administrative centre of Orkland Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The town sits at the end of the Orkdal Fjord, an arm of the Trondheimsfjord. Orkanger is the commercial centre of Orkland Municipality and it is the site of the Orkanger Church. It was established as a "town" in 2014. Combined with the neighbouring suburban village of Fannrem, the conurbation constitutes one of the largest urban areas in Trøndelag county. Byneset
Byneset is a headland located in Trondheim Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The area is located just west of the city of Trondheim. The Trondheimsfjorden lies to the north, Orkdalsfjorden lies to the west, and the Gaulosen bay lies to the south. The villages of Spongdal and Langørjan are both located on the headland. In 1999, the 18-hole golf course, ''Byneset Golfsenter'', was built. Anne B. Ragde's novel trilogy Berlinerpoplene – Eremittkrepsene – Ligge i grønne enger (2004–2007) is set in Byneset.
