Özdere
Özdere (, ) is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Menderes, İzmir, Menderes, İzmir Province, Turkey. Its population is 1,499 (2022). It is a coastal settlement and resort town along the Aegean Sea coast. With adjacent neighbourhoods it has a permanent population of around 15,000 people, which can rise to nearly 100,000 during the summer as a result of its popularity amongst tourists. It is located approximately northwest of the nearby resort town of Kuşadası, south of Menderes, the district seat, and to the south of İzmir, the provincial seat. The town is situated in close proximity to numerous historical sites and is accessible via the Kuşadası-Selçuk-Seferihisar-Urla, İzmir, Urla provincial road. The area was settled and cultivated long before Turkish administration of the area, which is reflected in the several historical names the town once bore. Menderes, İzmir
Menderes is a municipality and district of İzmir Province, Turkey. Its area is 777 km2, and its population is 106,173 (2022). Overview Menderes district, which is notable for its satsumas, beautiful bays and historical riches, is from İzmir. The ruins of Kolophon, Klaros and Notion, which are along the Menderes-Selçuk road are next to each other and make up the important archeological sites of the province. The region around Gümüldür produces the world-famous tangerine breed of satsumas. Özdere is one of the important tourism resorts of the Aegean coast. Beads of various colors and shapes which are produced by the locals in Görece village are particularly of note. The area was called Cumaovası and was a township in the Konak (Centre) district before it became a district in 1988. Colophon (city)
Colophon (; ) was an ancient city in Ionia. Founded around the end of the 2nd millennium BC, it was likely one of the oldest of the twelve cities of the Ionian League. It was located between Lebedos (120 Stadion (unit of length), stadia to the west) and Ephesus (70 stadia to its south). Its ruins are south of the town Değirmendere in the Menderes, İzmir, Menderes district of İzmir Province, Turkey. The city's name comes from the word κολοφών, "summit", (which is also the origin of the bibliographic term "colophon (publishing), colophon", in the metaphorical sense of a 'crowning touch',) as it was sited along a ridgeline. Lebedos
Lebedus or Lebedos () was one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League, located south of Smyrna, Klazomenai and neighboring Teos and before Ephesus, which is further south. It was on the coast, ninety stadia (16.65 km) to the east of Cape Myonnesus, and 120 (22.2 km) west of Colophon. The city was built on and around a very small peninsula (175 m long, reaching a height of 61 m and with an isthmus 201 m wide), which is called the Kısık Peninsula today and depends on the coastal township of Ürkmez, part of Seferihisar locality, a district center depending on the province seat of İzmir.
