Östen Warnerbring
Östen Warnerbring (22 November 1934 – 18 January 2006), also known as Östen med Rösten (lit. "Östen with the Voice"), was a Sweden, Swedish singer, musician, composer, and lyrics writer who mastered several musical genres. He started as a jazz musician but over the years, he became known as a singer of other popular music, such as schlager music, and of Swedish poetry put into music by himself. In 1967, he represented Sweden at Eurovision Song Contest 1967 with the song . In the 1970s, he became one of the first Swedish artists to use his native accent, of the province of Scania (Skåne) in the south of Sweden, also while singing. Early life Warnerbring was born in Malmö. His family lived near the race track Jägersro, and as a child, Warnerbring entertained the racing audience by playing the harmonica to them. Eysteinn (Swedish: Östen; died ca 600) was a semi-legendary king of Sweden, the son of Eadgils. He was the father of Ingvar. The Eysteinn tumulus ''(Östens hög)'' in Västerås near Östanbro has been linked to King Eysteinn by some popular historians. Eysteinn ruled Sweden at the time when Hrólf Kraki died in Lejre.Snorri Sturluson It was a troubled time when many Sea-King, sea kings ravaged Swedish shores. The Swedish participating broadcaster, (SR), selected its entry through 1968. The entry finished 5th (out of 17) with 15 points, including 6 from , the highest number of votes awarded that year. Before Eurovision 1968 1968 was the selection for the 10th song to represent at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the ninth time that (SR) used this system of picking a song. 2233 songs were submitted to SR for the competition. Claes-Göran Hederström (20 October 1945 – 8 November 2022) was a Swedish singer. He made his musical debut on Swedish television in 1967. Sweden was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1966 with the song "", composed by Bengt-Arne Wallin, with lyrics by Björn Lindroth, and performed by Lill Lindfors and Svante Thuresson. The Swedish participating broadcaster, (SR), selected its entry through a national final titled . Sweden scored 16 points and finished in 2nd place at the contest in Luxembourg, its highest ever placement at the time. Svante Thuresson
Svante Thuresson (7 February 1937 – 10 May 2021) was a Swedish jazz musician. He started his career as a drummer before joining the band Gals and Pals in 1963. Svante won the national selection and represented Sweden in the Eurovision song contest in 1966 with ''Nygammal vals'' ("New, Old-Fashioned Waltz") and came in second place; he performed with Lill Lindfors. In 2007, Thuresson and Anne-Lie Rydé performed at Melodifestivalen 2007 as a duo in hopes of represent Sweden in the Eurovision, but failed to make it to the final. He died from a long-term illness on 10 May 2021, at the age of 84. Maj Lillemor "Lill" Lindfors (born 12 May 1940) is a Swedish singer who has performed in Scandinavia since the 1960s. She and Svante Thuresson performed the song " Nygammal Vals" ("New, yet familiar waltz") as the Swedish entrants in the 1966 Eurovision Song Contest. Career Lindfors was born into a Swedish-speaking Finnish family in Helsinki, Finland, and she moved to Sweden with her family when she was eight years old. She made her debut as a revue actress in Uddevalla in 1960. The following year she made her first recording.
