Ómar Ingi Magnússon
Ómar Ingi Magnússon (born 12 March 1997) is an Icelandic handball player for SC Magdeburg and the Icelandic national handball team. In both 2021 and 2022, he was named the Icelandic Sportsperson of the Year. Club career In summer 2014 he switched over to Valur where he was supposed to be a part of the youth setup. He soon started to break through to the first team and earned a squad role, at age 17. He played there until 2016 when he transferred to the Danish club Aarhus Håndbold after an impressive season in Iceland where he was chosen young player of the year. At the beginning of the 2018/19 season in Denmark he transferred to league rivals Aalborg Håndbold, joining fellow nationals Janus Daði Smárason, Arnór Atlason and coach Aron Kristjánsson. With Aalborg he won the Danish Cup competition in 2018 and the Danish championship in 2019 and 2020. For the 2020/21 season he moved to the German Bundesliga club SC Magdeburg. Selfoss (town)
Selfoss () is a town in southern Iceland on the banks of the Ölfusá river. It is the seat of the municipality of Árborg. The Icelandic Route 1 (Iceland), Route 1 runs through the town on its way between Hveragerði and Hella, Iceland, Hella. The town is a centre of commerce and small industries with a population of around 10,000 (2023), making it the largest residential area in South Iceland. Danish Men's Handball League
The Herreligaen (men's league), formerly known as Herrehåndboldligaen (men's handball league), is the men's top Danish professional handball league. The winners of the Herreligaen are recognised as the Danish men's handball champions. The current champions are Aalborg Håndbold. Season The Herreligaen season consists of 14 teams, each playing 26 regular season games. The eight best teams of the regular season advance to further games, where they are divided into two groups of four teams each. No. 1 and 2 from the regular season start with 2 points. COVID-19

2022 European Men's Handball Championship
The 2022 European Handball Federation, EHF European Men's Handball Championship was the 15th edition of the tournament and the second to feature 24 national teams. It was co-hosted in two countries – Hungary and Slovakia – from 13 to 30 January 2022. It was won by Sweden; the first time in 20 years they won the title. France Men's National Handball Team
The France national handball team is supervised by the French Handball Federation, and represents France in international matches. It is the first handball team to have held all three titles twice (the Danish women's team also held all three in 1997), and the only national team in its sport to hold six world titles and a total of thirteen medals at the World Men's Handball Championship. With a total of five medals, including three gold in 2008, 2012 and 2021, France is also the most successful Handball team at the Summer Olympics. 2017 World Men's Handball Championship
The 2017 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 25th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. The event was held in France from 11 to 29 January 2017. France, in a clean sweep, defended their title by defeating Norway 33–26 in the final, which secured France their sixth title. Slovenia defeated Croatia 31–30 to capture the bronze medal. Norway (from a wildcard) and Slovenia earned their first World Championship medals ever. 2022–23 EHF Champions League
The 2022–23 EHF Champions League was the 63rd edition of Europe's premier club handball tournament and the 30th edition under the current EHF Champions League format. It ran from 14 September 2022 to 18 June 2023. SC Magdeburg defeated Barlinek Industria Kielce 30–29 in the final to capture their fourth title. In team sports, a most valuable player (MVP) award is an honor typically bestowed upon an individual (or individuals, in the instance of a tie) whose individual performance is the greatest in an entire league, for a particular competition, or on a specific team. The 2021–22 EHF European League was the 2nd edition of the EHF European League, the second most important European handball club competition organised by the European Handball Federation (EHF).
