Île-des-Chênes North Stars
The Île-des-Chênes North Stars are a Canadian senior ice hockey team based out of Ile des Chenes, Manitoba. The North Stars were 2003 Allan Cup champions and currently play in the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League. History Longtime members of the now-defunct senior/intermediate Hanover-Tache Hockey League until 2005, the North Stars began competing dually at the Senior A and AAA levels in 1996. The North Stars competed as an independent Senior AAA club from 2005 to 2018 and dropped back to Senior A status upon joining the CSHL in 2020. Allan Cup competition The North Stars made their first Allan Cup appearance in 1998. They captured their first and only national championship at the 2003 Allan Cup in Dundas, Ontario. 2009 Allan Cup
The 2009 Allan Cup was the Canadian championship of senior ice hockey. This tournament marked the 101st year that the Allan Cup has been awarded. The 2009 tournament was hosted by the City of Steinbach, Manitoba and the Steinbach North Stars. The tournament began on April 13, 2009, and ended April 18, 2009. All games were played at the T.G. Smith Centre. In the final, the Bentley Generals won their first ever Allan Cup, defeated the Southeast Prairie Thunder 4–3 in double overtime. Information Both Quebec and the Maritime Provinces were not represented at the 2009 Allan Cup. It was the second consecutive year that the Maritimes had been unable to muster together a Senior "AAA" club. Stony Plain Eagles
The Stony Plain Eagles are a senior ice hockey team based in Stony Plain, Alberta, Canada. Founded in the 1930s, the team moved up to the Senior AAA ranks in 1992 and currently play in the Chinook Hockey League. They are the 1999 Allan Cup National Senior Champions of Canada. History In 1987, the Eagles would win both the Alberta and Western Canada Intermediate "A" Championship, but lost the Hardy Cup Intermediate National Championship in straight games to Miramichi Gagnon Packers. From 1992 until 2003, the Eagles captured twelve consecutive Alberta Senior AAA Provincial Championships and reached six Allan Cup finals. They won one title, as the host team, in 1999. London Admirals
The London Admirals were a Canadian Senior ice hockey team from London, Ontario. The Admirals were one-time national Allan Cup finalists. History The London Admirals were a short lived Senior hockey team in Southwestern Ontario. They have the distinction of playing in an era where Senior hockey's popularity was near dead in Ontario, but still managed to compete in two Allan Cup tournaments in only two seasons. In 1997, the Southwestern Senior A Hockey League, the only sanctioned senior league left in Ontario, was down to five teams and wished to expand. One team brought in was the London Admirals. In their first season, the Admirals cleaned house with 24 wins, 2 losses, and a tie. The first-place finish and a great playoff run got them into the 1998 Allan Cup in Truro, Nova Scotia in only their first season. Manitoba Hockey Hall Of Fame
The Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame and Museum is a hall of fame and museum for ice hockey in Manitoba, located on the main level of the Canada Life Centre in downtown Winnipeg. It was established in 1985, when the first honoured members were named and plaques were erected in their honour. The first group of inductees was large in order to recognize the accomplishments of Manitoba players, coaches, builders, and teams at the international, national, provincial, and local levels for many years. Induction ceremonies were held on an annual or bi-annual basis through 1993. Since 1995, the Foundation has added to its honour-roll every second year. The Players Wall is just inside the main entrance in the northeast corner and the Builders Wall is in the northwest corner. South East Prairie Thunder
The South East Prairie Thunder were a Canadians, Canadian Senior ice hockey, Senior 'AAA' ice hockey team based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba and two-time Allan Cup champions. They played an independent schedule under the jurisdiction of Hockey Manitoba. The team is inactive as of 2021. History The team was founded in 2004 as the Grunthal Red Wings and based out of Grunthal, Manitoba.
