État 141-001 to 141-250 was a series of 2-8-2 steam locomotives of the ''Chemins de Fer de l'État''. Overview The series of 250 engines, numbered 141-001 to 141-250 were built in 1921. They were renumbered 141.B.001 to 141.B.250 by the SNCF in 1938 and ended their career in the West of France at the end of the 1960s. Design The engines were capable of a speed of up . Their light weight per axle made them capable of hauling both passenger and goods trains on most of the ''Chemins de Fer de l'États network and of the former ''Chemins de Fer de l'Ouest''. Due to the need of a simple to operate and solid locomotive, the ''Chemins de Fer de l'État'' even went to choose the pressure of the boiler (or in French). The pressure was 12 kp/cm2 or 12 ''hectopièzes'' (old units of measurement, 1.2 MPa in modern units), this enabled the machine to develop an output of at 60 km/h and at 100 km/h. Schneider et Compagnie, also known as Schneider-Creusot for its birthplace in the French town of Le Creusot, was a historic iron and steel-mill company which became a major arms manufacturer. In the 1960s, it was taken over by the Belgian Empain group and merged with it in 1969 to form Empain-Schneider, which in 1980 was renamed Schneider SA and in 1999, after much restructuring, Schneider Electric. Motive Power Depot
A motive power depot (MPD) or locomotive depot, or traction maintenance depot (TMD), is where locomotives are usually housed, repaired and maintained. They were originally known as "running sheds", "engine sheds" or just "sheds". Facilities are provided for refuelling and the replenishing of water, lubricating oil and grease and, for steam engines, the disposal of ash. There are often workshops for day-to-day repairs and maintenance, but locomotive building and major overhauls are usually carried out at locomotive works. Rigid-framed electric locomotives were some of the first generations of electric locomotive design. When these began the traction motors of these early locomotives, particularly with AC motors, were too large and heavy to be mounted directly to the axles and so were carried on the frame. One of the initial simplest wheel arrangements for a mainline electric locomotive, from around 1900, was the 1′C1′ arrangement, in UIC classification. Some of these locomotives had their driving wheels coupled with coupling rods, as for steam locomotives. Others had individual motors for each axle, as would later become universal. Chemins De Fer De L'État Locomotives
The Chemins Company is a dietary supplement manufacturer based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The company, founded in 1974 by James Cameron, became embroiled in a series of criminal investigations in 1994 after a woman died and more than 100 other people became ill after taking one of the company's products marketed under the brand name Nature's Nutrition Formula One. The adverse events were later linked to the product having been tainted with ephedrine. A three-year federal investigation, which revealed that the company had doctored records, misled FDA investigators, and purposely hindered inspections, led to Cameron being sentenced to 21 months in prison and him and the company being fined $4.7 million .
