Édouard Martin (playwright)
Édouard Martin, full name Édouard Joseph Martin, (19 July 1825 – 13 July 1866 ) was a 19th-century French playwright. When he was a young dramatist and a friend of Edmond About and Théophile Gautier, Édouard Martin was known for the comedies he wrote in collaboration with Eugène Labiche, Albert Monnier and Paul Siraudin, during the Second French Empire. Suffering from mental illness in 1864, he died at the municipal nursing home Antoine Dubois, Dubois (today hôpital Fernand-Widal) 13 July 1866. Émile De Najac
Comte Émile de Najac (December 1828 – 11 April 1889) was a French librettist. He was a prolific writer during the Second Empire (France), Second Empire and early part of the Third Republic (France), Third Republic, supplying plays and opéra comique librettos, many in one act. Biography Émile de Najac was born in Lorient, France, the descendant of naval commander and bonapartist Benoît Georges de Najac. His son Raoul Charles Eugène was also a writer for the stage. Najac died in Paris on 11 April 1889.
