Édouard Delvaux
Édouard Delvaux (; Brussels, c. 1806 – Spa, 1862) was a Belgian Romantic painter. The grandson of the sculptor Laurent Delvaux and apprentice of the painter Henri Van Assche Henri Van Assche (30 August 1774, Brussels - 10 April 1841, Brussels) was a Belgian painter; primarily of landscapes. He was especially well-known for his depictions of waterfalls and water mills. Some of his scenes contain animals painted by ..., his work mainly consisted of bucolic rural scenes from his many trips to France, Switzerland, Germany and Italy. He won silver medal at the 1836 Brussels exhibition and was director of the École de dessin at Spa. Spa (; wa, Spå) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium, whose name became an eponym for mineral baths with supposed curative properties.
