Éditions Ki-oon
Ki-oon is a French manga publisher with its head office in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It was founded in October 2003 by Cécile Pournin and Ahmed Agne. It released its first manga in March 2004, the first volume of ''Element Line''. The name "Ki-oon" comes from an onomatopoeia meaning "having the heart inflated with emotion". With an increase in revenue of 80% in 2009, Ki-oon is in 2010 the most important independent publisher of manga in France. Stray Little Devil
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kotaro Mori. The manga was originally serialized in Dengeki Comic Gao!, and was later published into five bound volumes by MediaWorks from January 2005 to March 2007. It follows a girl named Kaya who, on her sixteenth birthday, discovers that her stuffed animal Purple is alive and has been secretly protecting her. Plot The plot centers around Kaya and her three stuffed animals: Purple, Gray, and Aqua. Because Kaya loves and cares for her stuffed animals so much they are able to have souls, as long as Kaya keeps loving them their souls will be allowed to live on. As the legend goes, if a stuffed animal experiences a 'High Emotional Moment' they can then do a 'Human Transform' in which they are able to become human for a short period of time. Tsutsui conceived of the plot after reading a novel on bacterial diseases, which led him to research the subject.
