Éamonn Lawlor
Éamonn Lawlor (born 1951) is an Irish radio broadcaster on RTÉ lyric fm. Éamonn Lawlor was born in Delvin, County Westmeath. He was educated at Rockwell College, Cashel, and University College Dublin where he received a Master of Arts in Modern English and American Literature. Lawlor is one of Ireland's leading current affairs broadcasters. He was RTÉ News and Current Affairs's Europe Correspondent from 1979 to 1989. He became the second male presenter of '' RTÉ News: Six One'', from 1992 to 1996. He then joined Brian Farrell and Miriam O'Callaghan as one of the co-presenters of the current affairs programme ''Prime Time'' on RTÉ One. In May 1999 Lawlor left the current affairs department of RTÉ and joined RTÉ lyric fm RTÉ Lyric FM (stylised as RTÉ lyric fm) is an Irish classical music, jazz and arts radio station, owned and operated by RTÉ. RTÉ Libraries And Archives
The RTÉ Libraries and Archives are a collection of photographs, sounds recordings, video footage and written records (of articles such as scripts) in various formats across a wide range of topics pertaining to Irish life and society. The collection is derived from the material used by Raidió TeilifÃs Éireann in their activities as national broadcaster for Ireland. As RTÉ is part funded by a licence fee from Irish householders with televisions, it has a responsibility to maintain and update this collection and make it available to the general public. In common with most broadcasters, much of RTÉ's early material was never recorded, with tapes wiped for re-use or simply dumped. The remaining footage largely consists of random extracts, rather than complete series. However, they provide insightful examples of historical programming. RTÉ One is an Irish free-to-air flagship television channel owned and operated by RTÉ. It is the most-popular and most-watched television channel in the country and was launched as ''TelefÃs Éireann'' on 31 December 1961, it was renamed ''RTÉ'' in 1966, and it was renamed as RTÉ 1 upon the launch of RTÉ 2 in 1978. ''Prime Time'' is an Irish current affairs television programme airing on RTÉ One on Tuesday and Thursday nights (following the '' RTÉ Nine O'Clock News''). Miriam O'Callaghan (born 1959 or 1960) is an Irish television current affairs presenter with RTÉ. O'Callaghan has presented '' Prime Time'' since 1996, and her own summer talk show, '' Saturday Night with Miriam'', from 2005 onwards. In the summer of 2009, she began a radio show, '' Miriam Meets...'', since replaced by live show ''Sunday with Miriam''. Bernard Brendan "Brian" Farrell (9 January 1929 – 10 November 2014) was an Irish author, journalist, academic and broadcaster.
