Çilekeş
Çilekeş ( ', lit. 'Sufferer') is a Turkish rock band active since 2002. Band history Çilekeş was founded in 2002 in Ankara. The band received greater fame after winning the music contest "Genç Yetenekler Aramızda" (Young Talents Among Us), sponsored by the Fanta drinks company, in 2003, juried by such famous Turkish artists like Teoman and Levent Yüksel. After the contest, still as an amateur band, they were invited to a tour, comprising 17 cities, during which they performed to an approximate total of 350,000 audience. The band members are Görkem Karabudak (vocals, rhythm guitar), Ali Güçlü Şimşek (lead guitar), Gökhan Şahinkaya (bass guitar), Cumhur Avcil (drums). The band's first album, entitled ''Y.O.K.'' was released by On-air in 2005. They released their second work entitled ''Katil Dans'' in 2008. Ankara ( , ; ), historically known as Ancyra and Angora, is the capital of Turkey. Şebnem Ferah (born 12 April 1972) is a Turkish singer, songwriter, composer, and guitarist. She was the lead vocalist of the all-female hard rock band Volvox until 1994, after which she went on to pursue an illustrious solo career. Her music style varies from pop rock to hard rock though her later albums have progressively incorporated more of the hard rock sound. Early life and Volvox Şebnem Ferah was born on 12 April 1972 in Yalova to ethnic Turkish immigrant parents from Skopje (present-day North Macedonia). Drum
The drum is a member of the percussion group of musical instruments. In the Hornbostel-Sachs classification system, it is a membranophone. Drums consist of at least one membrane, called a drumhead or drum skin, that is stretched over a shell and struck, either directly with the player's hands, or with a percussion mallet, to produce sound. Rhythm Guitar
In music performances, rhythm guitar is a technique and role that performs a combination of two functions: to provide all or part of the rhythmic pulse in conjunction with other instruments from the rhythm section (e.g., drum kit, bass guitar); and to provide all or part of the harmony, i.e. the chords from a song's chord progression, where a chord is a group of notes played together. Therefore, the basic technique of rhythm guitar is to hold down a series of chords with the fretting hand while strumming or fingerpicking rhythmically with the other hand. Levent Yüksel
Levent Uğur Yüksel (born October 21, 1964) is a Turkish pop singer and multi instrumentalist. He has been active in live music industry since 1993. Life Yüksel's interest in arts and music started in an early age. He started to play violin at the age of five. During his elementary and primary education, he sang in school events. Then he started singing in family and friends' wedding ceremonies. After graduation, he moved from the coastal city Antalya to the city of art, Istanbul, to study music in the Istanbul University State Conservatory (İstanbul Devlet Konservatuarı), and learned to play bass guitar and perform vocals.
