Çatırdağ
Chatyr-Dag (; ; ) is a mountainous massif in Crimea, near the Simferopol-Alushta highway. Overview The mountain consists of two plateaus: the lower (north) and the upper (south). The lower plateau slopes gently down to its northern side, which is covered in steppe grass. On its southern end (near the steep slope of the higher plateau), the lower plateau is covered with beech forests and juniper glades. It has many hiking trails and several beautiful caves (listed below). On the east side of the lower plateau there is a grove of yews. The upper plateau has the shape of a giant bowl and on its rim; the highest peaks are each named. The upper plateau is covered with alpine meadows. Its slopes are very steep and offer some routes for multipitch climbing (rock climbing routes longer than length of one climbing rope). The highest peak is Eklizi-Bourun (1527 m above sea level). Marble Caves (, , ) is a cave in Crimea, at the lower plateau of Chatyr-Dag, a mountainous massif. It is a popular tourist attraction and one of the most visited caves in Europe. Due to its uniqueness, Marble Cave became famous worldwide. Speleologists consider it among the top five most beautiful caves of the planet, and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Ukraine. In 1992, it was included in the International Association of Equipped Caves. History In 1987, the Simferopol speleology team discovered a cave with a complex system of halls and galleries between Bin Bash-Koba (Thousand Heads) and Suuk-Koba (Cold). The new cave, that lay at the altitude of above sea level, was called Marble (initially, also the name "Afghan" was used), due to the fact it that was formed in marble limestone. The Valley Of Ghosts (Crimea)
The Valley of Ghosts (, , ) is a valley located in Crimea made up of naturally shaped rocks on the Southern Demirci mountain, located near Alushta city. The stone shapes resemble statues of humans, animals, legendary creatures from fairy tales, pyramids and various mystery objects. The characteristics and forms of the rocks are also subject to the time of day, lighting and atmospheric conditions, such as the characteristic thick fog of the region. It is a unique and natural monument of national significance. Demirci yayla is the only place in the Crimea to observe the phenomenon of the Brocken spectre. History "Stone figures", which were formed by the weathering of rocks on the southwest slope of Demirci yayla, are called the Valley of Ghosts. It has been affected by several rock falls, notably in April 1894 and August 1966. Demirci yayla gets its mystery from the haze which changes its colors.
