Åresjön
Åresjön is a lake situated at above mean sea level in Åredalen, Jämtland County, Sweden, with primary inflow and outflow being Indalsälven. The lake is large, it has of average depth and reaches at the deepest point. The European route E14 and Mittbanan railway runs along the northern coastline through Åre and some minor settlements. Åre Ski Area lies on the northern bank of the lake; Åreskutan and Renfjället peaks are on each side of the valley. Jämtland County (, ) is a county or '' län'' in Sweden. It consists of the provinces of Jämtland and Härjedalen, along with minor parts of Hälsingland and Ångermanland, plus two small strips of Lapland and Dalarna. European route E14 is a part of the International E-road network. It runs between Trondheim, Norway, and Sundsvall, Sweden. The road is long. The road follows the route Trondheim - Storlien – Östersund – Sundsvall. Just east of Trondheim, the road goes through the long Hell Tunnel. Mittbanan
The Central Line () is a long railway line between Sundsvall and Storlien in central Sweden (Västernorrland County and Jämtland County). It continues as the long Meråker Line through Norway to Hell Station and onwards to Trondheim. The railway shares line with Inland Line between Brunflo and Östersund while the line between Ånge and Bräcke is double track. The entire line is electrified at , but the Norwegian section is not. This requires all trains to Norway to be diesel trains. SJ AB operates night trains with sleeping cars from Storlien or Duved to either Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö.
