Älvefärd
Otyg are a folk metal band from Sweden, featuring Andreas Hedlund, the frontman for Vintersorg. During their existence, Otyg released two albums with songs written in traditional Scandinavian folk style, featuring traditional Scandinavian instruments not frequently heard in heavy metal, such as the keyed fiddle and willow flute. All the lyrics are written in Swedish. Two songs from the band were used in the MMORPG Granado Espada: "Huldran" and "Trollslottet". In an interview in May 2012 Andreas Hedlund stated that Otyg is now reactivated and a new album is going to be released. In an interview in July 2014 Andreas stated that new Otyg album is already written, but he lacks the time to record it in studio. Mattias Marklund (born 14 September 1974) is a guitarist who plays in Vintersorg, Casket Casey, The Derelict Dead, and TME (band), TME. He also did guest guitar work for Vintersorg bandmate, Andreas Hedlund's progressive rock band, Waterclime. Andreas Hedlund
Andreas Hedlund (born 17 September 1973), better known by his stage names Vintersorg and Mr. V, is a Swedish vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who has played in several heavy metal bands. Biography Hedlund's musical career came to be at or around 1991 when he was a member of a short-lived death metal project called "Masticator", which only lasted a single demo in the same year, yet his most notable musical exploit came in 1994 when he and a few other musicians formed "Vargatron" (Swedish for "Wolfthrone"). The original style was meant to be rooted in black metal but using mostly clean vocals and only a few moments of the traditional grim screaming. After a few line-up changes, the group broke up in 1996, but Hedlund still wanted to work with the songs he wrote for Vargatron and decided to record them by himself. Skellefteå (, locally ) is a Cities in Sweden, city in Västerbotten County, Sweden, with a population of 36,388. It is the seat of Skellefteå Municipality, which had 77,322 inhabitants in 2024. The willow flute, also known as sallow flute (, or ''sälgpipa'', or ''pajupilli'', , ), is a Nordic folk flute, or whistle, consisting of a simple tube with a transverse fipple mouthpiece and no finger holes. The mouthpiece is typically constructed by inserting a grooved plug into one end of the tube, and cutting an edged opening in the tube a short distance away from the plug.
