Ángel Rubén Escobar Rivas (born May 12, 1965) is a former Venezuelan shortstop and switch hitter in Major League Baseball who played for the San Francisco Giants in its 1988 season. Escobar hit .333 (1-for-3) with one run scored in three games. Shortstop, abbreviated SS, is the baseball positions, baseball or softball fielding position between second base, second and third base, which is considered to be among the Defensive spectrum, most demanding defensive positions.
