ﾃ］gel Aristedes Chﾃ｡vez (born July 22, 1981) is a Panamanian professional baseball infielder. He made his Major League Baseball debut as an infielder with a late-season call up in for the San Francisco Giants. He has compiled a .269 career average with 74 home runs, 478 RBI and 98 stolen bases (in 137 attempts), in 936 minor league contests. He originally signed with the San Francisco Giants as a non-drafted free agent on October 30, 1998. He was born in David, Chiriquﾃｭ, Panama. Career San Francisco Giants Chﾃ｡vez enjoyed a year at the minor league level in 2005, before having his contract purchased by the Giants on August 30. He made a big league debut that night versus the Colorado Rockies, starting at shortstop for ailing Omar Vizquel. He played in 10 games (4 starts - 3 at shortstop, 1 at second base) with the Giants, going 5-for-19 (.263) with a double. Durham Bulls
The Durham Bulls are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. They are located in Durham, North Carolina, and play their home games at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, which opened in 1995. Established as the Durham Tobacconists in the North Carolina League in 1902, the team subsequently disbanded and restarted numerous times. After a 10-year hiatus, it was reestablished as the Durham Bulls and played in the North Carolina State League from 1913 to 1917. The Bulls were members of the Piedmont League from 1920 to 1933 and for a second time from 1936 to 1943. Durham competed in the Carolina League from 1945 to 1971. For the latter part of this stretch, they merged with a team from Raleigh, becoming the Raleigh-Durham Mets (1968), Raleigh-Durham Phillies (1969), and Raleigh-Durham Triangles (1970窶1971).
