Álvaro Pires de Évora, or Alvaro di Piero (before 1411 – after 1434), was a Portuguese painter. Giorgio Vasari (30 July 1511 – 27 June 1574) was an Italian Renaissance painter, architect, art historian, and biographer who is best known for his work '' Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects'', considered the ideological foundation of Western art-historical writing, and still much cited in modern biographies of the many Italian Renaissance artists he covers, including Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, although he is now regarded as including many factual errors, especially when covering artists from before he was born. Taddeo di Bartolo (c. 1363 – 26 August 1422), also known as Taddeo Bartoli, was an Italian painter of the Sienese School during the early Renaissance. His biography appears in the '' Vite'' of Giorgio Vasari, who claims that Taddeo was the uncle of Domenico di Bartolo. Biography Taddeo di Bartolo was born in Siena. The exact year of his birth is unknown, but possibly between 1363-65. He was the son of a certain Bartolo di Maestro Mino, a barber, and not of the painter Bartolo di Fredi, as Vasari believed, and therefore Taddeo was not the brother of Andrea di Bartolo. Around 1389 Taddeo was admitted to the Sienese Guild of artists, where he mastered the art of painting among his Sienese colleagues.
