''¡Ciaütistico!'' is the debut album from XXL, the collaborative effort of Italian experimental rock band Larsen and American band Xiu Xiu. It was recorded at Larsen's studio in Turin, Italy. Though largely instrumental, the album features vocals from Caralee McElroy on "Paw Paw Paw Paw Paw Paw Paw" and "Minne Mouseistic" and Jamie Stewart on "(Pokey I'm Your) Gnocchi" and "Prince Charming", a cover of the 1981 single by Adam and the Ants Adam and the Ants were an English Rock music, rock band that formed in London in 1977. Xiu Xiu ( ) is an American experimental rock band, formed in 2002 by singer-songwriter Jamie Stewart in San Jose, California. Currently, the line-up consists of multi-instrumentalists Stewart (the only constant member since formation), Angela Seo, and percussionist David Kendrick. The band's name comes from the Chinese film '' Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl'', which has influenced the sound of their music, according to Stewart. Xiu Xiu released their first two albums, '' Knife Play'' (2002) and ''A Promise'' (2003), on 5 Rue Christine to positive critical reception. In-between the two, the EP ''Chapel of the Chimes'' was released via Absolutely Kosher. Prince Charming (Adam And The Ants Song)
"Prince Charming" was a number-one single in the UK Singles Chart for four weeks in September 1981 for Adam and the Ants. Written by Adam Ant and Marco Pirroni, and featuring on the Prince Charming (album), album of the same name, it was Adam and the Ants' second number-one single in a row and was the fifth biggest hit of 1981. Music video Band member and producer Merrick (Chris Hughes (record producer), Chris Hughes), normally on drums, played a stirring riff on an open-tuned acoustic guitar throughout the song. Lead guitarist Pirroni mimed to this part on both an orchestral harp and a miniature harp in the promotional video. Marco Pirroni
Marco Francesco Andrea Pirroni (born 27 April 1959) frequently credited simply as Marco, is a British guitarist, songwriter and record producer. He has worked with Adam Ant, Sinéad O'Connor, Siouxsie and the Banshees and many others from the late 1970s to the present day. Early years Born to Italian parents in Camden Town, London, Pirroni made his first appearance on stage with Siouxsie and the Banshees in their début gig, at 100 Club Punk Festival in 1976. Sid Vicious, future bassist for the Sex Pistols, was on drums. Stuart Leslie Goddard (born 3 November 1954), known professionally as Adam Ant, is an English singer, musician, and actor. He gained popularity as the lead singer of new wave group Adam and the Ants and later as a solo artist, scoring 10 UK top ten hits from 1980 to 1983, including three UK No. 1 singles. Caralee McElroy (born December 27, 1983) is a Brooklyn-based American multi-instrumentalist who has played in the bands Xiu Xiu, XXL, and Cold Cave. Biography McElroy was born in Olympia, WA and was raised in Modesto, California and Seattle, Washington. She grew up immersed in both music and the visual arts. Her father, Brent, is a luthier and builds acoustic guitars.
