"(Anesthesia) – Pulling Teeth" is an instrumental song by American thrash metal band Metallica. It is the fifth track on their debut studio album, ''Kill 'Em All'', released on July 25, 1983 through the independent label Megaforce Records. The song is an instrumental electric bass solo written and performed by Metallica bassist Cliff Burton, with additional percussion performed by Lars Ulrich. A staple of Burton's live performances since his high school days in the band Agents of Misfortune, the instrumental track featured Burton's distinctive "lead-bass" style of playing, incorporating heavy distortion, use of wah-wah pedal and tapping. "(Anesthesia) – Pulling Teeth" is the first instrumental song recorded by Metallica, the first Metallica song credited to Cliff Burton, as well as the only song on their debut album which Burton received writing credit. Metallica is an American heavy metal band. Rickenbacker International Corporation is a string instrument manufacturer based in Santa Ana, California. Rickenbacker is the first known maker of electric guitars, with a steel guitar in 1932, and produces a range of electric guitars and basses. Roberto Agustín Miguel Santiago Samuel Trujillo Veracruz (; born October 23, 1964) is an American musician who has been the bassist for heavy metal band Metallica since 2003. He first rose to prominence as the bassist of crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies from 1989 to 1995, while also collaborating with Suicidal Tendencies frontman Mike Muir for funk metal supergroup Infectious Grooves. After leaving Suicidal Tendencies, he performed with Ozzy Osbourne, Jerry Cantrell, and heavy metal band Black Label Society.
