Simon Rich
Simon Rich (born June 5, 1984) is an American humorist, novelist, and screenwriter. He has published two novels and six collections of humor pieces, several of which appeared in ''The New Yorker.'' His novels and short stories have been translated into over a dozen languages. Rich was one of the youngest writers ever hired on ''Saturday Night Live,'' and served as a staff writer for Pixar. On January 14, 2015, ''Man Seeking Woman'', a television comedy series created by Rich (and based upon his short story collection ''The Last Girlfriend on Earth'') premiered on the cable channel FXX. Early life and education Rich was born and raised in New York City. He attended The Town School, and then went on to attend Dalton School. Seth Aaron Rogen (; born April 15, 1982) is a Canadian-American actor, comedian and filmmaker. Originally a stand-up comedian in Vancouver, he moved to Los Angeles for a part in Judd Apatow's series ''Freaks and Geeks'', and then got a part on Apatow's sitcom ''Undeclared'', which also hired him as a writer. After landing his job as a staff writer on the final season of ''Da Ali G Show'', Apatow guided Rogen toward a film career. ''An American Pickle'' is a 2020 American comedy-drama film directed by Brandon Trost (in his solo directorial debut) and written by Simon Rich, based on his 2013 short story "Sell Out". The film stars Seth Rogen as an Eastern European Jewish immigrant who gets preserved in a vat of Pickled cucumber, pickles and wakes up a century later in modern-day New York City, attempting to fit in with the assistance of his last remaining descendant (also played by Rogen). Originally intended to be released by Sony Pictures, the film's rights were sold to Warner Bros. in April 2020. McSweeney's Publishing is an American non-profit publishing house founded by Dave Eggers in 1998 and headquartered in San Francisco. Initially publishing the literary journal'' Timothy McSweeney's Quarterly Concern'', the company has moved to novels, books of poetry, and other periodicals.
