Netra
Netra (''Norddeutsche Erdgas Transversale'') is a long natural gas pipeline system in Germany, which runs from the Dornum natural gas receiving facilitiy at the coast of North Sea to Salzwedel in eastern Germany, where it is connected with the JAGAL pipeline. The pipeline is extended to Berlin through the Salzwedel–Berlin connection. Construction of the Netra pipeline was agreed in 1994 and the pipeline was commissioned in 1995. Originally it run from the Etzel gas storage facility to Salzwedel. In 1999, after commissioning the Europipe II pipeline, the NETRA pipeline system is extended from Etzel to Dornum. The compressor station near Wardenburg was built in 2003. The pipeline was owned and operated by NETRA GmbH Norddeutsche Erdgas Transversale & Co KG, a joint venture of E.ON Ruhrgas (41.7%), Gasunie Deutschland (29.6%) and Statoil (28.7%). Europipe II
Europipe II is a natural gas pipeline from the Kårstø processing plant north of Stavanger to a receiving terminal at Dornum in Germany. It came on stream on 1 October 1999. Route It starts from Kårstø processing plant and runs about onshore from Kårstø to Vestre Bokn. From there, the offshore pipeline runs through Norwegian, Danish and German sectors of the North Sea. The German onshore section is long. At Dornum the gas is supplied into the Netra (Norddeutsche Erdgas Transversale) gas pipeline, which runs to Salzwedel in eastern Germany. Technical description The diameter of pipeline is and the capacity is of natural gas per year. Most of the gas is supplied from Equinor's Åsgard, Sleipner East/West, Gullfaks and Statfjord fields. JAGAL
JAGAL (''Jamal-Gas-Anbindungsleitung'') is a German section of the Yamal-Europe pipeline. The pipeline is used for the Russian natural gas import and it is owned and operated by Gascade Gastransport GmbH. It runs from the Polish–German border at Lebus near Frankfurt (Oder) to Rückersdorf. In Rückersdorf JAGAL is connected with STEGAL pipeline carrying gas further west. In Bernau JAGAL is connected with the Verbundnetz Gas AG-operated long-distance gas pipeline No. 302. Europipe I is a natural gas pipeline from the North Sea to Continental Europe. History The feasibility study of the pipeline's project was conducted in 1990. On 20 April 1993, an agreement between Norway and Germany was concluded on the construction of Europipe. The pipeline was commissioned on 1 October 1995 and it cost 21.3 billion NOK. Route The pipeline runs from the Draupner E riser platform in the North Sea to a receiving terminal at Dornum in Germany. At Draupner E, it is connected with Zeepipe and Statpipe/Norpipe system. A compressor station is a facility which helps the transportation process of natural gas from one location to another. Natural gas, while being transported through a gas pipeline, needs to be periodically pressurized at intervals of . Siting is dependent on terrain, and the number of gas wells in the vicinity. Frequent elevation changes and a greater number of gas wells will require more compressor stations. The compressor station, also called a pumping station, is the "engine" that powers a long-distance natural gas pipeline. As the name implies, the station compresses the gas (increasing its pressure) thereby providing energy to move it through the pipeline.
