In the same month, he was also named in Bangladesh's ODI and T20I squad for their series against Ireland. On 27 March 2023, in the 1st T20I, Rony scored his maiden half-century in international cricket in just 24 balls, recording the third fastest fifty by Bangladeshi batter in T20Is.
