Their sixth single, ''Midnight Sun'', was released in October and sold 600,000 copies on the ''Billboard Japan'' chart in its first week, while the lead track, "SuperCali", spent two weeks in the top six of the Japan Hot 100. By the end of 2022, JO1 ranked high on several ''Billboard Japan'' year-end charts, propelling them to number 25 on the Artist 100 chart.
