Đàm Vĩnh Hưng (born 2 October 1971), often referred to by his nickname Mr. Dam is an American-Vietnamese singer. He won 2 Dedication awards and multiple awards in Vietnam. Besides pop, he also performed many pre-war songs, Trinh Cong Son's songs and golden music. He is one of the most highly paid singers in Vietnam, and some of his alleged statements have appeared in tabloids. Early life Dam Vinh Hung was born in ( Quảng Nam) in 1971.. His paternal grandmother was of Hokkien ancestry, and he claims to have French ancestry from his paternal grandfather. His mother is from Quảng Nam. He also has one sibling. Dam began his musical career in 1996. Before pursuing singing career, he was a hair dresser. South Vietnam
South Vietnam, officially the Republic of Vietnam ( vi, Việt Nam Cộng hòa), was a state in Southeast Asia that existed from 1955 to 1975, the period when the southern portion of Vietnam was a member of the Western Bloc during part of the Cold War after the 1954 division of Vietnam. Hoklo People
The Hoklo people or Hokkien people () are a Han Chinese (also Han Taiwanese) subgroup who speak Hokkien, a Southern Min language, or trace their ancestry to Southeastern Fujian, China and known by various endonyms or other related terms such as Banlam (Minnan) people () or Hokkien people (). Hoài Linh
Võ Nguyễn Hoài Linh (born December 18, 1969), better known by his stage name Hoài Linh, is a Vietnamese American comedian and actor. A frequent collaborator of Thúy Nga center, he is known for his comedy performances alongside other artists such as Vân Sơn and Chí Tài.
