Veryday Sociology
Veryday was a Swedish industrial design consultancy, headquartered in the Bromma area of Stockholm, with additional studios in New York City, Singapore, Dubai, and London. It was formally named Ergonomi Design Gruppen (English: Ergonomic Design Group) and often referred to as Ergonomidesign; in 2012 the firm adopted the name Veryday. In November 2016, Veryday became part of McKinsey & Company, and today operates under the name "McKinsey Design." In 2024 McKinsey & Co announced that they are closing down the Veryday studio. The company produced more than 350 patents and won more than 240 design awards. In BusinessWeek's 2008 ranking of leading design agencies, Veryday tied as number 4 in the world. Veryday won the Red Dot "Design Team of the Year" award in 2014. Maria Benktzon
Maria Benktzon (born 1946) is a Sweden, Swedish designer, she is known for industrial design with Human factors and ergonomics, human factors. She is a co-founder of Ergonomi Design Gruppen which later became Veryday, an industrial design consultancy located in Stockholm. The company aimed to design improved everyday objects for the home and work. In November 2016, Veryday joined forces with McKinsey & Company, and today operates under the name "McKinsey Design." Biography Maria Benktzon was born in 1946 in Nyköping, Sweden. and studied at the Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. In 1968, Benktzon was at a conference and saw a talk given by Victor Papanek concerning design for social good, which inspired her user-centred and inclusive approach to design.
