Elect Bibliographies Reprint Series
The Excellent Long-Established University Consortium of Taiwan (ELECT or U12 Consortium, ), formerly named as ''U9 Consortium'', a university alliance in Taiwan. Its members are nine private universities located in New Taipei City and Taipei City and extended with three universities in Central Taiwan, with 12 universities in total, by cooperation including offering joint academic courses. Students of Member Universities can cross-register up to two classes per academic session. The member schools are equipped with specific strength and academic specialization networking, and viewed as some of historical partner universities or runner-up universities in lieu of comparing academic specialization to top universities in Taiwan, and evaluated among the best private universities in Taiwan. Feng Chia University
Feng Chia University (FCU; ) is a private research university in Taiwan, located in Taichung. It was named after Chiu Feng-Chia, one of the leaders of the military resistance against the Japanese invasion of Taiwan in 1895. Feng Chia University has a partnership with Purdue University, RMIT University, University of Zaragoza, and San Jose State University. Tunghai University
Tunghai University (THU; ) is a private university in Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan, established in 1955. It was founded by the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA). The university is known for its liberal arts education. Located at the foothills of Dadu Plateau, Dadu Mountain, Tunghai University spans over a hundred hectares, making it the largest private university campus in Taiwan by land area. Tatung University (TTU/) is a private university in Zhongshan, Taipei, Taiwan. It was first founded in 1956 as Tatung Institute of Technology but renamed in 1999 as Tatung University. Currently, Tatung University has four colleges: College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, College of Engineering, College of Management and College of Design. History The university was first founded as Tatung Institute of Technology in 1956 and began to offer two-year college programs. Dr. T. S. Lin was then appointed as president of the school. The institute was accredited to be a four-year institute of technology in 1963, and began to offer several master's programs in 1976 and doctoral programs in 1982. Tamkang University (TKU; ) is a private university in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. It was founded in 1950 as a junior college of English. Taipei Medical University (TMU; ) in Taiwan is located in Taipei's Xinyi District. Founded as Taipei Medical College in 1960, it was renamed as Taipei Medical University in 2000. Soochow University () is a private university in Taipei, Taiwan. Soochow University maintains a church and a Methodist minister in residence, though it may be considered a secular institution. Shih Hsin University
Shih Hsin University (SHU; ) is a university in Taipei, Taiwan. SHU is best known for its media and mass communication departments in Taiwan, founded in Muzha, Taipei in 1956. History Shih Hsin University was re-established in Taiwan in 1956 as Shih Hsin School of Journalism by the journalists and publishers Cheng Shewo and Yeh Ming-hsun.
